Playing villainous roles on TV doesn't always create negative stereotypes about the actor. Atleast that's what Bhoomika aka Resshmi Ghosh of KKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi believes. At times, even negative roles could show off some positive shades. "For instance, Bhoomika also brings out the mental strength of a woman who is able to fight off a certain set up," she says.
Despite her initial lows in Bollywood, life seems to have looked up all over again for this Bong beauty of the small screen. "I have signed on a couple of Bollywood roles. In a movie titled Tumse Milkar, I will be a part of a cast that includes Parveen Dabbas and Rajpal Yadav. I am hoping to make a successful debut on the
silver screen," she adds on an optimistic note.
However, for Resshmi, film world may not be an alien territory. In the past she has acted in Bengali films (Amar Mayer Shapat) and has also worked with seasoned people like Aparna Sen and Rituparna Ghosh. Meanwhile she had also dabbled with ramp shows and commercials. Now with the role in Kkyunki making waves, she is hopeful of a similar success in Bollywood.
These days Resshmi isn't merely fixated on acting alone. She is training her voice to revive her singing abilities. "Once I become a bit more confident of my singing capabilities, I will be indulging in this art a lot more," she says. Theatre in any case continues to run as a parallel passion.
That's not all. Along with cherishing fond dreams of her prince charming, this femme on the acting lane has also been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug.
"I am also planning to set up my own business," she says. What kind of venture will that be? "That's a guarded secret. Everyone will get to know when the time is right," she sums up with a sly twinkle.
