'Mehbooba' pictures leaked, Varma shocked
Director Ram Gopal Varma is shocked to see pictures of the secretly-shot song 'Mehbooba', featuring both Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan with Urmila, leaked out on the net.

'I haven't given out any pictures. In fact, I don't intend to show the song in my promos. So it has to be images taken on a mobile camera during the shoot (at Karjat),' Varma told IANS.

At the same time, the director is falling off his chair with mirth at a report that Aishwarya Rai was supposed to do the 'Mehbooba' song before Urmila Matondkar in his much-talked about film 'Sholay'.

He said: 'This is news to me. As far as I'm concerned Urmila was always the first and the last choice for 'Mehbooba' song. I don't know where Aishwarya came into the picture.'

The film starring Amitabh, Ajay Devgan and Sushmita Sen, is a remake of Ramesh Sippy's film of the same name.

A big statue for Big B

Fans of Amitabh Bachchan in the Muzafarpur district of Bihar have formed the A B Fans Foundation and will install a 28-foot statue of their icon.

This fan club has also formed a charitable trust and they plan to help the needy people of the film industry through it.

The foundation is also coming out with an album titled 'Amitabh Uncle', which will have the 'Amitabh Stuti' (prayer of Amitabh).

11 May 2007 (Sawf News) – With the Abhi-Ash marriage approaching its one-month anniversary, it's time to look at how star marriages have fared both in the past and in the current generation! Some have been arranged by caring family members; some have been conducted hastily by the stars themselves and yet others have happened with quiet dignity!

Without doubt, the Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai wedding on April 20, 2007 was the grandest 'private' event in recent Bollywood history! But star couples before them have married in different circumstances and have faced the future in their own peculiar way.

Talking about marriages in the film industry, veteran film writer Subhash Jha says in Bombay Times that the most wonderful Bollywood marriage is that of Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu.

"Sairaji is a wife, mother, friend, escort and companion, all combined into one for Yusuf Saab," he says, adding that other marriages of the past had checkered histories.

Nargis and Sunil Dutt were happy together. Rajesh Khanna-Dimple Kapadia separated. Waheeda Rahman lost her husband, so did Sadhana. Asha Parekh and Nanda remained spinsters.

"Saira Banu need never fear loneliness," he says, "She has love."

More recent couples too have had multi-faceted marriages that have had different destinies….
