Basker meets with Adhi and Adhi outlines his plan. He congratulates Basker for having become the M.D. of appi constructions and Basker says he is only temparavary. Adhi says he will make Basky a permanent MD if only Basky joins hands with Adhi. He mesmerizes Basker with the idea that once he helps Adi then Basker will be the nirandhara MD and Abi will be a mere housewife. also, Adhi is against Appi because of her thozhil enmity and has nothing personal against her..(just wait and see, ellaam andha EashwaranukkE veLicham..maybe andha thiruvEnkatathukkum now) He keeps pounding the idea that women are fit only to stay home and work and leave the competition to men...and promsises that Basker will prosper and progress.

He needs one document that the owners of those apartments signed jointly...B realizes that it is the only piece of evidence to protect Abhi. Adhi agrees and says he wants it. Basker says that he cannot do it as he holds only one key to the locker..the other is with RK madam. Adhi says he has another helper in Ganga who will get the key from RKM. Basker says that job was blotched due to his efforts and so he cannot/will not act against Abi. So saying he turns to leave and Adhi lets the leash loosely only to pull him back after 4 steps to remind him abt the 50 L he owes Adi. He wants it now. Basker realizes he is in a jam and just then Ganga the traitor climbs up the stairs just then and says she will get the second key. Basker listens on silently.

abhi contructions - Basker is in his cabin (Osila kedachadhu) when Ganga enters and asks him abt his key. Basker again says he cannot do dhrOgam to abhi. ok, he admits being a money-hungry kind but this mess was a result of his doing and so he cannot act against abhi. Ganga reminds him that he accepted all in front of the kingmaker and Basker says, I just kept quiet to see what you two would propose...but that doesn't mean I am going to do as per your suggestions. This office is in my custody now and I have to hand it to Abi. Ganga is miffed and by now, Krishnan sir is on the other side, listening to all this..He was abt to come in to talk to Basker when he hears Ganga asking Basker to help Adhi and benefit thus. Basker further instructs Ganga to do her job sincerely and to not betray the trust RK has in her. Krishnan nods wisely and goes away.

Abi's friend is cooking something in a gigantic pot when Saroja devi walks by and asks that friend to check if the water is boiled enough. She peers into the boiling pot and assures that it is boiling but SS wants her to dip her hand and check. All around watch with fear and the poor lady dips her hand in gently and says it is done. SS grabs her hand and pushes the entire hand in the pot...the lady screams..all including abi come there and to the warden's question, the lady answers that she mistakenly dipped it into the pot. Abi takes her away and applies some marundhu...and asks if it was deliberate. Just then, Abi is summoned by SS and the lady friend asks Abi not to go but the director has to show us the brave martyr abhi.

She is asked by SS to check the water as well and she peers into the pot and sees the boiing water and says it is done but once again SS asks her to dip her hand. Abhi hesitates and then she is roughly asked..and she says she will and then calmly, with some music playing in her head abt what a great thyaagi she is, she dips her entire left hand..and keeps it there, much to the shock of SS and others. SS is shocked as well and comes and gapes and asks abi, eppididee? kai sudalai? and peers into the pot...abi grabs her hand and dips it in and holds it steady in the water and SS shouts. she says, ippadi dhaan, now are you sure that the water is to the right level? and then the warden comes by. Now, it is abi's turn to explain and she says that SS accidentally dipped her hand into the water. the warden doesn't believe it but abi sweetly asks (while tenderly holding a blistered hand - looked like an alien's) isn't it so, Saroja akka? and she mutters 'yes'. Really hope that Sulphetta watched anniyan before her jail pravesam and was without sulphetta when she watched it, so as to remember the garuda puranam...punishment...next it will be abhi manchurian.

Abi's friend turns abi and is aghast at her hand..as we all are and asks her how she was able to bear it...abi mentions that she has enough wounds in her heart and this is nothing... freeze.........

after tonight's episode, I am in favor of Basker.. for all his faults, he could have sold abi down the river..he may still do..but he redeemed his bad points a lot by today's. (nearing the end maybe, to pave the way for a pleasant union?)..whereas this Thols must roast in Sulpetta's hand. we can throw in arthi for some spice.....he acts like a spoiled petulant child...sulking away, ditching his responsibilities with nary a word, just coz Abi said she is not family and didn't call him for bhoomi pooja...

i wish they would show more of rajesh...and his singara (chennai) thamizh...

I can provide a brief idea of Wednesday's story.

Bhaskar comes home and finds that his mother haa made huge purchases of jewellary and dresses and he finds that she has stolen the money from the office. Now he thinks what to do and Alamelu says please don't send me to jail.

Abhi sees the rowdy prisoner with her burnt hand and smirks at her further angering her and she now thinks of poisoning abhi and tells her plan to her companion prisoner.

Karpagam and family come to temple and there Kanchana and family are also there. Usha sees Karpagam and shows her child to her. Kanchana sees this and now there is a big fight between them.

after yesterday's episode, either my patience has run out or I have just lost interest in the serial.
I got so mad...
why shd the bad guys always win? and what is this director thinking? evidence no.2 destroyed in adhi's hands.

Atha office: Ganga comes in and sees Ramachandra prabhO talking on his cell phone to someone peela vittufying how the company can't do without his services and they begged at his feet for his speedy return. Ganga is stumped and storms past him. He hurriedly keeps the dead phone down and watches her entry into her cabin and take a seat at her desk. For the first time, they show Ganga working on some files...ok, all she did was turn over a few empty ones but hey, I will take anything other than she roaming all around town, spying for Adhi and not doing a thing that can be called work.

RamaC makes hand gestures to Basker and Basker returns the favor and then calls Ganga and asks her to go look for some color shades files that the builder asked for. Ganga says it will take a lot of time sorting thru' it but Basker says it is urgent and asks her to go. She leaves her handbag and goes off. Basker signals RC and RC hurries into Ganga's cabin. He looks everywhere but the handbag for some time, no doubt meant to heighten our interest but works quite the opposite, then zeroes in on the bag and fishes the lone key out..ennE indha company security!! RC knows that it is Rajamani madam's key and pockets it and goes outside. Basker is manning the outside, on the watch out for Ganga, who is looking thru' various colored files strewn on top of a table.(again, record-keeping, thy name is Abhi constructions protocol) She discards one after the other, giving them sufficient time to do what they want.

Basker gets the key from RC, goes into the main office and opens the locker and removes the document that Adhi wants. He comes back and hands the key to RC and Ganga comes in then. wait.....let me go rest for a while..it was too much excitement in one night...nail biting suspense....'nooravadhu naaL' range vida interesting...bak bak nEram...that too, night 10.15 kku thaniyaa paarthaa, innum konjam thidukkidum nEram..
now, we wonder or supposed to as to how the key goes back to Ganga. Thols has a master plan...Ganga goes in, looks at her displaced handbag, gets suspicious, looks inside the bag for her key and not finding it, starts looking for her key under the table/cabinet, etc. the dumbO can't figure out how the key will jump from the handbag to the said places. RC comes inside, looking green (well, it was hard to place this color given his dark complexion, but we can always guess)..He asks Ganga what is she looking for and tells her that he is aware of her displeasure at his work here and then asks her if she looked for the said key (she says she is looking for one) in her handbag. The intelligent Ganga says she has already done so...and meanwhile, he slips the key inside her bag. RC tells her that she must have searched in a hurry. Ganga searches again and bingo, is happy that she found it.. sorry, the entire segment could have been written in 2 sentences but then TC has taken so much trouble to think of this mystery moment and so I had to justify it.
Basker meets Adhi in a building site and hands over the document and says he feels guilty. Adhi talks nonsense that it is not guilt but fear that drives Basker. Did he feel guilty when he dropped Abhi and tried to marry Ranjani? and also, with this brilliant move, Basker can sideline Abhi and can climb the corporate ladder to success and he deserves it. Also, saamrajyams are born of such dhrOghams only. One man's downfall is imminent and is the base for another's rise. Hasn't history proved this? so Abhi, has to go down to bring Basker and Adhi up. Basker spouts some more guilty nonsense but easily gets convinced by Adhi's psycho-babble and keeps asking, do u really think it is ok, am I doing right, etc..I was afraid that adhi was going to bill Basker another 50 L for counseling. Basker says his role in this shd never be revealed to Ganga and once he leaves, Adhi tears the document and says this is the end of Abhi and gives a maniac laugh. I felt more threatened by the close up view of his teeth rather than with the bak bak scene above and am seriously considering suing the pants off TC, provided he surfaces. may be it was intentional???? This was the real tense moment..is the camera going to zoom in on his open mouth and subject us to nightmares????
ok, here is where I thought the director is nuts...all good evidence falls in Adhi's hands and gets destroyed...so what is Abi to do? live in jail forever and eat cockroaches? or has the story taken a turn where she quits construction and starts some sort of reform movement in jail for the downtrodden?
Jail: another dhik dhik moment...lunch time. Sulphetta signals another lady and they both go alone and Sulphetta gives her a bottle (poison) to be mixed with food. Rather than mixing with just Abhi's, she is asked to add it to the mother lode. The lady is scared and is arguing about it when this is overheard by Manju. She thinks they have already poisoned the entire lot and runs away screaming to all to throw their food. She tells all that they have poisoned the food and Sulphetta and the lady come out and they scoff her charges and eat the food from abhis plate. Manju is confused. They then disperse, all the while showing the brown bottle in the other lady's hand. she goes to serve and Abhi gives just a look and goes to get Manju and herself more food. Manju is watching when the lady pours stuff from the bottle onto Abhi's plate, supposedly surreptiously.

- Thuls goes back to the ashram and finds out that upendra is infact a resident of the ashram

- Thuls is waiting for upendra to come back to the ashram

- Then the guy who is arranging for upendra's escape to australia arrives at the ashram & asks for upendra, when he is told that upendra has not come back, he asks them to give upendra a message about, how UPERNDRAs trip will be tomorrow and not today

- Thuls over hears this & has something going on in his head

- Anandhi goes and requests their publisher to publish manjula's death as they know that shankarapandi is behind her death

- Editor gets convinced and publishes the articles as to how there are some starring discrepancy in manjulas death to be ruled out to be a suicide

- Upendra is at DAvid's house who is arranging for his trip

- Upendra wants to leave the same day, as there is no child for upendra to leave the same day

- Upendra then says that it will be difficult to go back to the ashram, so he wants to stay at davids place.

- As upendra is leaving he sees thuls inquiring in the street.

- Upendra asks david to protect him and threaten thuls away

- DAvid agrees, upendra hides

- David confronts thuls, thuls says that he came looking for a catamaran, david chases thuls away

- thuls leaves( i guess now he knows upen is there)

- Minister reads the news about him in parashakthi, and gets calls about this news from other people

- So arrogant minister goes to meet the parashakthi people and threatens them

- he comes home and tells adhi that he has taken care of everything

- but unfortunately his conversation and threatneneing of the parashakthi people has been taped and sent to the higher authorities & the minister also gets a copy

- so minister gets a letter asking him to resign

- minister sits down doomed

Ganga receives a call from upendra who says he just wants to thank her for all her help

then after a few mins thuls calls ganga, who says upendra master

now thuls is shocked and says how could ganga do this and why did she not produce the cell phone to the court to prove abhi's innocence.

ganga tells a sodapal story that she gave the cell to adhi to save thuls, thuls says what r u nuts, adhi ismy worst enemy and then he tells ganga that he will bring upednra and prove abhi's innocence, in the meantime he asks if she cares about him genunily, upendras men come and beat him up and take him a that point

thuls gets beaten black and blue and is supposedly to be thrown into the waters

ganga in the meantime goes looking for adhi

she then finds adhi in the ministers home and tells adhi about her phone call and tells her this time she needs adhi to find thuls as she fears for his life

ex minister is very happy as ganga hands over the pondicherry number from her cell to track thuls, and she also blurts about upendra's call (ivvalavu muttalana gangavukku MD post vendumam, ridiculous)

Minister summons 4 goons to go find Upendra and finish him off. He gives them the address of the PCO. Rekha wants to know how her dad got the addr. and proud dad answers that he got it from the phone number - duh! Rekha praises dad...proved that she is as brainless as her dad.
He also warns them to look out for Thols and asks to kill him as well. Adhi emphasizes that Uppu should not be found alive by anyone and standing in attendance is the rogue inspector who leaves to take Abhi to the court.

Pondy - An old muslim gentleman walks into a small house, asking abt how that man is and Thols is all black and bruised. People in attendance say that he just woke up and the elderly guy asks him where he is from. Thols says chennai and then is told that he must have very bad enemies and he was found washed up between rocks, badly hurt and it is Allah's miracle that he is alive. Thols gets up with grimace and pain and wants to leave but looks like he is in no condition. The old man advises him to take rest for some time and Thols sucuumbs to pain, after protesting 3 times that he has urgent business. (methinks he was talking abt the call of nature)
looks like Thols will not be the hero, bringing in Uppu to the courtroom.

Uppu gives David a piriyaa vidai and talks and talks until the goons come home. He says he is indebted to David and both of them are passionate in what they believe in. - uppu dance and David - dhaadhaaism. He says he will turn his back to the world which treated him bad and with his dance skills, make the entire world fall at his feet. He says he will repay David when he strikes it rich in the gold mines of down under and David urges him to go near the lighthouse and wait for the boat with the baby. Meanwhile they show the goons driving recklessly, asking for directions and finally, reaching the PCO, narrowly (literally as the street was) missing Uppu's auto. They ask the poor boy at the PCO abt last night's calls and he says David took one of the guys.

Next they come in search of David and show a gun to his face and he leads them to where Uppu is waiting. Uppu walks this way and that way, a lone figure at the beach near an old lighthouse, looking at the sea. He spots the SUV and looking at the men spilling out of it, he turns around and spots a distant catamaran with 3 on board..He shouts at them to come soon (looked very funny) and looks for ways to run..there is none. he is cornered and the head honcho holds a gun to his head. The rest ask him to kill but he takes Uppu near the hood of the SUV. Uppu delivers a well-aimed kick at the man's precious jewels and sprints off over the car and far beyond. The car doesn't start and they start in pursuit.

November 27, 2006 - Monday updt

Entrance of a new Kishore:
Adhi' house - Kishore (original arai meesai has been replaced with the bad guy AruL from dheergha sumangali - looks not an iota like a north Indian - sariyaana pEttai aaL) and parents have come to talk abt Anjali-kishore wedding and engagement in reverse order. Eashwar is there just for ornamental sake and it is Kanchu and Paati who talk. They say they have been real busy with some other business ventures and they will start proceedings immediately. Paatti assures them this. Kanchu says they will have a simple engagement followed by a grand reception. Arjun is also an ornament decorating the sofa. Kishore's pa asks Eashwar why Eashwar looks as though he lost all his sothu at sea and Paatti hastens to tell them he has been pre-occupied lately with business thoughts.
They leave and Kanchu wants to invite Anu and Mano for the engagement. Paati has been whisked away by a magician during this talk.

Adhiyum athimbErum:
Minister sankarapandi's house- Minister is consoling Adhi that abhi can never come out now and not to be afraid of this Ganga chick. Adhi says they cannot just ignore Ganga's threats and he has a plan up his door. and precisely at that point, a sreechurnam clad rogue athimber Ramachandra prabhO walks in. Adhi introduces him as Ganga's bil to SKPD and asks if Ramachandran would help Adhi in finding info from Ganga. RamaC talks in broken english and SKPD is surprised at his english pulamai and RamaC answers that when you are in Rome, do as the romans do and so in the presence of the great and the learned adhi and SKPD (paavam harbor cooli ivanukku sutha thamizhE thathingiNathOmnu theriyaadhu), he will speak in english. Adhi and SKPD are amused and then Adhi says Ganga has a piece of evidence that would free Abhi - a video clip and RamaC's job is to locate that and he would be compensated adequately. RamaC wants to know the poorvigam and andhaadhi of that clip but Adhi says he doesn't need to know anything more. AthimbEr slinks away and minister says what is this loosu clown going to do and Adhi says he trusts him.
(I think he is banking on how stupid Ganga is rather than on the intelligent sleuthing capabilities of our Sherlock Homes RamaC)

Special invitation to more sambhandhi/sakkaLathi sandai:
Kanchu and vethu vEttu come to Abhi's house to invite Anu and Mano. Kanchu makes coward call out for Anu and Anu and mano come out, after Rajendran spots them. Anu is so pleased at her parents' arrival and even more so when she knows why. Kanchu says the invite is only for the couple when our KKK storms outside and calls Mano to her side and says it is Anu's wish if she decides to go but her son will not attend the function. Kanchu comes near spitting venom while the toothless snake goes further back. KKK says she is talking to her son and not to this lady who has the guts to invite her son after her son threw her daughter in jail..(confused?) more tongue fights and then Kanchu stomps away telling Anu to come, with or without Mano. Mano looks like a deer caught in headlights, proving he is his daddy's son, to the boot.

My name is Bond, Ramachandra Bond:
Ganga is making a beeline for the hospital where Thols is, making sure she doesn't spot RamaC following her just 2 steps away. Inside a room, Thols is being examined by doc and nurse and Ganga enquires abt his progress or lack of. Doc and nurse leave the room and our super detective is listening in thru' the open door. Thols asks Ganga what happened at the court house and Ganga informs him that Uppu is no more and he never had a chance to confess. Thols is visibly upset and tries to get up and bangs his bad hand against the bed. TG he didn't scream like Uppu did. He then blames Ganga for giving the only evidence to Adhi and according to him, she has done a 'periya blunder mistake' (he better take a crash english course from RamaC). Ganga for her sake, points that she had no other go to save Thols and why, it is because of my love for you. Thols falls under this Gangaasthiram and his murmurs come down several octaves. Ganga also tells Thols that she has bluffed even now that she has other copies in order to save Thols. AthimbEr had heard enough and takes leave. (so no unless Adhi confesses all, last episode, abhi will remain in jail forever, at least for ranjani's murder, if not for uppu and prabhu - maari and gang may spill the beans)

Ganga asks where Thols found Uppu and hears abt Pondy and kalai spotting Uppu. Thols gets up to leave, right on cue, doc enters and says Thols needs rest but he has to recuperate elsewhere after now. Ganga says she will take him home and look after him. They ask Thols to go lie down and he obeys.

Girl gets her way:
Anu is porumufying inside their room that her mil is being very adamant and what if abhi anni is in jail? the world doesn't stop there and yadayadayada, it is her fault for leaving her parents and choosing her own destiny; her mom has forgive her act and has even graciously included Mano in her invite, etc. Mano has heard enough and he asks her to get ready and that he will come. Our black beauty Rajendran the super-spy stops him and now Arthi is on Mano's tail. She asks if Mano has no shame whatsoever..(why is she having such doubts? for a NASA-destined, this ought to be a piece of cake..her autowala has more brains than her - she is all brawls) look at Adhi, he proudly listens to whatever his mom says and here, Mano disregards KKK's wishes. KKK for her part berates at him and asks how he would even consider going to that house to get insulted and tells him not to go. Mano says these are special circumstances and that he will get a nice dinner there (added by me) and leaves, leaving KKK with kadharals, kaNNeer and kambalaiyumaa. Arthi tries to ask her mom to shut up (thanakku vandhaal thalai vali theriyaradhu - does she stop screaming herself?) but KKK orders her stop ordering her to stop crying..that is my birthright and we are subjected to more KKK.

November 29 Update:

Scene 1

Ramachandran tells Adhi and the Minister that Gangga lied to them about her having a video copy of the murder. Adhi asks him to leave and tells the minister that he will take care of Gangga. Then all of a sudden he tells that he has an urgent matter to attend to - his brother is getting engaged. Apologized for forgetting to invite Minister and daughter Rekha. Aks them to follow him, but minister replies he will follow with his daughter later. Rekha gets all upset and asks what is to be done now, since Kishore is also getting engaged. She wants her father to do something.

Scene 2

Anu and Mano arrive at Adhi's house. mano is reluctant to enter and tells his wife to go ahead. Kishore comes out and welcomes both Anu and Mano and takes them inside. Anu and Mano are introduced to the bride's family. (If I am not mistaken the bride is Janani from Muhurtham). There is a lot of teasing going on between both families. A former employee (driver) of Eshwar's family arives and congratulates Kishore on his engagement. He recognizes Mano and says that Mano is looking good and does not resemble like the auto drive he is. Kanchu Slaps the driver and chases him out. Adhi arrives at this point watches this drama. He calls his mother aside and asks her what is going on and why she is supporting Mano. Kanchu replies that as Mano is married to Anu, he is their Mapillai and should be treated with respect. She also tells him that even though she hates Abhi and her family as much as Adhi does, she will still respect Anu's husband and Anu is her daughter.

Scene 3:

In Abhi's house, Karpagam is lying down in the middle of the house (why do they do this, don't they have a room to sleep in?) Arti checks on her mother and finds out that she is running a fever, calls her mama (I think his name is Krishnan) and wants to take her to the hospital. Karpagam asks Krishnan to go and see what is happening at Adhi's house as she is afraid that Mano would be insulted and mistreated (ena oru thai pasam inge. Intha mathiri magan enaku irunthal, nalla serupale adichi vitta vitu epavo verarhiripen). Krishnan tells her that Mano would be very happy with his new sontham and is not at all concerned about his mother. But Karpagan is adamant that Krishnan should go and see for himself what is going on,otherwise she will not go to the hospital. At Adhi's house, the engagement is at full swing and everyone is happy and celebrating. Krishnan watches this from the doorway. Eeswaran notices Krishnan and as soon as the ceremony is over, takes Mano out to meet Krishnan. Krishnan tells Mano that Karpagam is sick and wants to take him home. anu refuses and says that it is all a drama to take them back as Karpagan does want Mano to be in good terms with her family. Easwaran tries ro reason, but Kanchu comes at this point and as usual tells Krishnan to leave and Mano and anu to get into the house. Krishnan leaves. Later Eeswaran once agains tries to talk Mano into going to his mom but Kanchu and anu interferes and Anu tells Mano that wehn they left the house, Karpagam was fine (like kuttu kallu). Anu and Kanchu tells Mano that they should not leave so soon after the engagement as the bride's family wants to get to know their family. So Mano listens to them and follows Anu with his tail between his legs(so to speak).

Scene 4

Arti is giving some pills (hopefully not sleeping pills to kill of this character!) for her fever. Krishnan returns and relays the situation and tells Karpagan that only she is concerned about the well being of her son but Mano is very happy with his new found family and does not care about his own family. Both Arti and Krishnan tells Karpagam not to trust Mano anymore.

At Minister's house, Minister askes Rekha if she is ready to go for the engagement and all hell breaks loose. Rekha goes on a rampage and breaks the stuff in the living, watched by aher worried father. when Minister askes what is wrong, Rekha laments that if Kishore gets maried, she cannot fo into Kanchu's house as a daughter in law and take revenge on Usha. She actually orders her father to do something or anything about this, so that she will have her way to become Kanchu's daughter in law or she will die. Minister tells her to be patient and that he will take care of the matter.

Gangga arrives at her house and informs her mother that Thols (not shown here) is in the auto and that she needs to put him up in her house for the night. Her mother refuses saying that it is not proper. Gangga tells her mom that Thols life is in danger and he has no where to go and that is why she has brought him here and goes on about how Thols had helped her mom and sister's husband before and now it is their turn to help him. THODARUM.

This is all I can remember, if there is anything that I missed, please fill in. As it has been some time since I watched this series, I was surprised to see Usha back in Adhi's house. When did this happen? I thought she left Adhi's house after a fight with Kanchu. Please fill me in. Thanks.

In Canada we get to see Kolangal at 10.00 pm. Update for Thursday in short

10.01PM: Mano with Arjun, Kishore and the gang drinking. Mano refuses first and then he drinks with them, he looks sad so they ask him what his bothering him and Mano replies saying his mother is sick blah blah…. So Kishore request him to call home and offers him the cell. Mano comes out of the room calls home and as expected answered by Arti who lectures him about how he has forgotten his own mom and not to worry about her sonce they are there to take care and him to celebrate with his wife's family. Mano goes into the room and drinks some more comes out again and goes flat on the sofa this watched by Eswaran and he is upset with Mano's behaviour

10.16 Jail Abi is seated everyone else sleeping someone beside her will wake up and tell her to go to sleep since she needs lot of strength to live her life if she doe not get out from there after all what had happened. She goes into flash back mode from the day she was arrested
