Salman Khan hates being taken for granted. And we heard that Kunal Kohli and Aditya Chopra found that out the hard way recently. Apparently they tried to make him go the extra mile for their film, but Sallu put them in their place in his own trademark manner.
Aditya Chopra, as the story goes, wasn't too happy with Kunal Kohli's choice of Saif Ali Khan as the lead of their untitled film. Despite Kohli's insistence on going ahead with Saif, Chopra was adamant about roping in Salman Khan instead, as he fitted the bill perfectly. As per the plan, Kohli approached Sallu and the latter gave a nod to the project. In fact, Sallu was so gung-ho about the project that he even offered to slash his price considerably (he said he'd settle for less than his usual fee of Rs 4.5 crore this time). Kohli couldn't believe his luck! He went skipping back to Aditya.
However, the penny-pinching Aditya threw a bucketful of ice-cold water on his happiness when he asked Kohli to go back to Salman and bargain with him for an even lesser price. When a reluctant Kohli spoke with the actor, Sallu obviously lost his cool (not unexpectedly either). He told Kohli that in that case, if they wanted him to star in their film, they would have to pay him a crore extra (that would be Rs 5.5 crore) instead! Needless to say, there was very little that Kohli could say to argue his already weak case.
Although Kohli remained unavailable for comment, it has been learnt that he will announce the cast of his film by the end of this week. Will Sallu be part of it? Let's wait and watch.
