Bhansali is top. NO.2/3 are Vanga/Hirani with KJO/Rohit rounding out top 5. 

Bhansali, duh.

He's on another level. Every director's work gets replicated and improved upon, and they all get replaced sooner or later. Bhansali is the only one whose own contemporaries or even seniors tried to copy him but failed miserably. I doubt we'll ever get someone quite like him in the future.

The best filmmaker is Sriram Raghavan.

The one who understands mass sentiment is Vanga as obnoxious as he is.

No one can beat the South Indian directors in knowing the pulse of the audience. 

SLB is overrated. Hated all his movies till date, except black and Khamoshi. 

Hirani used to be good but his moviemaking has become stale with same kind of tropes repeated to the death. 

I like Vikramaditya Motwane, but he doesn’t make movies for the masses. 

Bottom line is, no one. It depends from movie to movie. 

Most profitable is Vanga for sure and of course SLB..
