Haha, that would've been hard to sit through.
She wouldn't have been a good fit for many of the movies that keep popping up on the forum these days where she was apparently the first choice. Don't think there's 1 percent truth to any of those 'sources' though.

Every Film Tho.
She could maybe do Poo. But it’s hard for me to imagine anyone else in Kajol’s role. She has immortalized the whole gumla thing
may be the role played by rani.
Rahul Raichand would’ve become my mortal enemy if his blind ass rejected Aishwarya. Over my dead twitching body.

And actually, before Aish and Rani, Chalte Chalte was originally intended for Ameesha Patel. She's confirmed this a few times. She was the first choice but the film was rejected for her by her manager without even letting her know! She had no idea she was SRK's first choice until SRK himself informed her that she had rejected his film.

“Kuch films mujhe pata bhi nahi thi ki mere paas aayi thi. Chalte Chalte was one such film. In fact, jab mai Humraaz ki dubbing kar rahi thi, aur Shah Rukh [Khan] apni Chalte Chalte ki dubbing kar rahe the. Same studio but in a different room, obviously. Aur we bumped into each other and we hugged each other. And inhone kaha ki come Ameesha let me show you a little bit of the film you rejected. I am like ‘I have rejected?' Mujhe pata hi nhi tha that the film was offered to me. So kabhi kabhar people who were managing you also played. [There were some films I didn't even know were offered to me. In fact when I was dubbing for Humraaz, Shah Rukh Khan was also dubbing in the same studio for Chalte Chalte. So when we bumped into each other, he said, ‘Ameesha let me show you a little bit of the film you rejected. I was like ‘I have rejected?' So back in time, a lot of times people who were managing you also played.]”
The same article also reveals that Bhansali wanted to work with Ameesha for some projects but her manager did not like Bhansali and thus refused to let Ameesha accept any Bhansali projects. What a horrible manager to reject Bhansali films and Chalte Chalte. Ameesha has said her biggest regret was not working with SRK.
Tere Naam and Munna Bhai MBBS were two other films offered to Ameesha but she couldn't commit to them as she was signed onto other films and the dates overlapped.
Certainly glad she wasn’t cast in Chalte Chalte. She is a really bad actress. Rani is on another Level and has great chemistry with SRK

He would have rejected Rani for Aish so that would make more sense.

I agree with you about Rani and SRK. They're my favorite pairing.
As for Ameesha, I think she started off really good in films like Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Gadar, Humraaz, Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai, etc. but she seemed to devolve as an actress by the late 2000s. Around the time she was floundering in the movie industry and became more obsessed with wearing skimpy clothes and doing item songs. If you watch her initial interviews, she came across as very poised, articulate, and educated but somehow that changed from years of being in the industry and she seems completely unrecognizable now. So I could see her having done well in Chalte Chalte, Tere Naam, or a Bhansali project in those early years.

Each thread has been documented with a source. For K3G, this news came straight from the horse's mouth, the horse being Karan. Darr, Happy New Year, Jawan, etc. all have sources as well.
The only one without a source is Fighter and I admitted that in the first post that I have only read rumors about her consideration and have no actual proof. Every other film, she was confirmed as a first choice.
