A compliment, finally. But he is shrewd enough to know she wants something from him.

When it all looks bleak, she thinks of him. She was happy she was doing well but had no one to share the happiness with.

He is disappointed that she just asked for fairness. Why does he want her to feel indebted to him?

Geet got it. She understood her task well. She knows him well enough to figure out what he would like.

She won. Good for her. She really needs one thing to go right for her.

Even after winning, she did not get the job. Why hold the competition then?

He knows she got cheated from her fair chance and is trying to make it up to her. But she needs a job, not clothes and dinner.
