Alia and her marriage seem to be the butt of jokes in the industry. I don't think anyone says it to her face, other than loony Kangana. But people be taking these jibes whenever they can. She must be aware of this, probably why she made some stupid PR moves at the beginning of her pregnancy to take away the attention from the elephant in the room. ðŸ˜†

So we like people to have s*x before marriage,  we promote live in relationships,  we believe that people should be s*xually active and explore but all hell breaks loose  if the girl becomes pregnant with her partner in love and they marry each other.

If s*x before marriage is accepted and considered cool and modern why pregnancy before marriage is frowned upon? Genuine question......

I think it is because

a) Indian society is deeply patriarchal. People and the industrywallahs pretend to be woke but they would'nt touch a woman bearing child out of wedlock. It's still a taboo even if she's with a man and is not married. It's frowned upon and Alia is bearing the brunt of it.

b) It's also because Alia's PR lied and gaslit people into believing that this is not a shotgun wedding. And rather put the blame on the viewers for spreading rumours. Coupled with that all the nautanki that Alia did to deflect attention with the airport piece, "archcake" episode is too much not to be made fun of. She has on multiple occasions in front of international media and elsewhere has presented herself as the bastion of female empowerment, so why not just admit that her child was indeed conceived before marriage. Why lie? Women can try all they might but even they are embedded deeply in patriarchal notions. She wants to portray an image of a perfect girl who married the love of her life and conceived her child after marriage like a traditional family. She of course can, but in such case she should tone down the fake empowerment schtick.

I think it's the hypocrisy from her side that people can't digest, that's why the trolling. Either choose a) be the bhartiya pativrata b) own your truth. But she prefers dancing on both sides.

If a woman with financial stability, power, status and backing of who's who of the industry and a "Kapoor" bahu can't own upto the truth, then what better are other women in India. Puts it in perspective why divorce rate is so low in SA.

I don't know why people are so fixated that Alia was pregnant before marriage. Also, you don't HAVE to marry if you're pregnant. Alia makes enough to be a single mom. Heck, Neena Gupta did it way back. And abortion is also legal in India.

Pregnancy is one of the dumbest reasons to get married.
