Wind beneath my wings was written by Larry Henley and Jeff Silbar and many artists recorded it, Bette Midler’s version from the movie Beaches being the most famous one. That one is sung for her best friend but this song is so universal & applicable to all sorts of relationships..

And I think to mothers most of all 

Because don’t we all feel that we can fly higher than an eagle because our mothers have been the wind beneath our wings?? Our heroes?
