Why PATTHAN is a huge hit and KKBKKJ is not?

First of all I am writing this post with utmost honesty without having any bias against SRK or favoritism for Salman, as I feel genuinely confused about this and maybe some other members as well.

I have seen both of the films and found them almost equally trashy nonsensical and even not that entertaining.

Then why PATTHAN not just turned out to be a hit but one of the biggest blockbusters ever, and KKBKKJ is a flop or hardly an average in best case scenario?

I would have torned apart Patthan if it would have been a Salman Khan movie, just like I did with Kick, Body Guard and Ready that were huge blockbusters but were equally bad films and not even that entertaining as well.

What you think can be the reason of such a shocking difference between these two films' boxoffice fate? especially when they are released at a similar time line with just few months of gap?

* If you think it is the career' gap that SRK has consciously taken which made people tend to watch him on screen as they were waiting to see SRK back on the silver screen, then Salman also showed up after a few years of gap post Bharat, as his other releases were either an OTT release or he was just in a cameo, KKBKKJ was his proper full fledged theaterical release after a few years of gap that too on a big festival like Eid, unlike Patthan.. then why such shocking difference in the business? 🤔

* If you think SRK is a mega star, which he is, but he somehow was struggling since last one decade to deliver a mega hit post 2003 since C. E. and Salman was making records at the boxoffice, then how come such a difference in the business? 🤔

* KKBKKJ had everything, the emotions, family angle, drama and other masala that should have attracted the audience and also it had a slightly better second half, while PATTHAN was mainly a spy film devoid of any emotions excpet of patriotism.

And if you talk about tackiness and laughable stuff like nursery rhyme songs and dance steps etc in KKB then Patthan's vfx were equally criticized for not of good quality and the script & turns were anything but engaging and creative in Patthan ...then why such starkly different results? 🤔

Is it because of this strange, lousy and weird title of the film (KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN) which never made people to take this film seriously to begin with in the first place ? or was that the Salman's look with that heidous wig or those lame dance steps which were part of the film promos?

Or if there is anything pertinent which can cross your mind that can possibly be the reason of such shocking and extreme boxoffice' results of these two films? coz as I said I am genuinely confused about this.

Why do much obsession with these two films. Man they're just another 2 films amongst many. Why is everyone's life revolving around them and constant comparisons. To be hell with big office.. not like any of us will profit from it.

It's so repetitive and tedious.

Sorry nothing against you, just that how much will ppl talk about these movies again... and again... and again.

The movie should have been called BHAIJAAN

with a tag line only kisi ka bhai, kisi ki jaan.

Box office opening has nothing to do with how good a movie really is because no one knew in the opening of it was a good or bad film. Pathaan was a movie that came after a long time and hype.

The song Joome Jo pathaan had become huge too. So ppl incl myself wanted to watch for that.

Thanks on the tag and I will reply in more detail. Pathan was made once the spyverse franchises were successful. Also, Salman had a cameo ahd it had a well known starcast, exotic locations etc. It copied many things in the tiger series.

Tiger series is a brand and ATBB ( all time blockbuster)

My more in-depth reply. Both these movies can’t be compared to each other. They poles apart. One had a well known starcast. Srk , deepika, John. Yes SRK is the superstar n opening relies on him.

Also, many Salman supporters were excited to see his extended cameo (20 plus minutes) at the interval and his entry. It was leaked my the those on set on how he would be entering with the TIGER THEME.

Whereas, This movie newcomers mainly. Remake? negativity. He tried blending the north n south. Salman the only superstar and his stardom got whatever collection. Otherwise take him out of the equation n one would know the result.

As Salman waa busy with above scene, he didn't get time to do Bhaijaan in better way 😎

The only difference is one movie was Empty theatre blockbuster while another one is empty theatre average movie.

It’s becoming like K-pop, only fans watch the movie and hype it as the biggest shit ever happened to Bollywood.

see there is only so much shyt people can take. They took it all with pathan, and so did not have room left for Salman's film. That way, it paid for SRK to take the first dump 😛😆

Silly comparison.

Besharam rang was a chartbuster & was talk of the town for DP's bikini and people were pissed with unnecessary targeting of the film. Also, the movie had a good star cast, actions, VFX, good music, intriguing plotline.

KKBKKJ, on the other hand, couldn't even generate a decent hype through trailer or music. The released songs were laughable. Salman seemed least interested and sleepwalking. Pooja Hegde was bland and Bhai and Pooja made a ordinary couple unlike DP-SRK who were a certified popular pair. The plot looked like mish mash of Bodyguard, Kick and Jai Ho.

What ever it earned, it earned for the presence of Salman. Nothing else even remotely contributed.
