A lot of them might subscribe just to avoid others making posts under their names and potentially causing controversy. Or just announce that they deleted their twitter account and be done with it.

The only one who I’m surprised wasn’t subscribed already is Amitabh Bachchan. He’s so obsessed with everything Twitter. His tweets, his followers, his likes etc etc.

This paid for blue tick crap has ruined Twitter, even more… uptil last week you could at least click on the tick to see if it was a legacy account or a paid for tick.. now it’s all same.. and lame….

But now anyone can use their names and buy a blue tick. There can be 5 accounts using the same name with the same blue tick. It's going to be a mess. The only ones who can afford to stay around are the old stars who have millions of followers and people know it's them. No new celeb can dare to come on Twitter because there would be no way to know if it's real or fake.

But it means nothing? It doesn't prevent someone from impersonating them. It doesn't mean they are who they say they are. Blue check just means you pay for twitter blue.

Yea I didn’t think of that angle. As Hotchoco says those with large number of followers might be able to stay distinguished in a sea of blue ticks. But overall this is gonna be a pain.

It's not a question of being unable or cheap for dishing out $8. If it actually meant verification of being who they say they are, then people would pay $8 and more for it. Many would actually pay $8 without verification for ad-free twitter or better visibility.

Right now, anyone paying for the blue check is literally paying $8 a month for Elon's stinky turd.
