Who are inclusive of older actresses in BW?

I see SRK works with Kajol and at times Rani. Ajay works with Tabu, and in ads also he has now been seen with Sonali in a spices ad and plays a dad.

Aamir has worked with Rani and Kareena in Talaash and now LSC, which was shot when Kareena was pregnant with Jeh.

Sujoy Ghosh, Bhansali, Shoojit Sircar, Anubhav Sinha also seem to give good work to actresses and do not always go for new or way younger faces. Bhansali worked with Ash in Guzaarish despite her marriage and is now bringing Manisha back in Heeramandi.

Which other filmmakers and actors are more inclusive and give work to actresses regardless of age and are not biased and do not always ignore senior actresses?

Whats the threshold ? I dont think SRK and Rani were in a film together since 2006 beyond a guest appearance. If thats relevant than in 2008 film Heroes Salman/Preity were paired together

The Akhtars (Zoya and Farhan), in the films they direct.

20+ years later, Dimple's role in Farhan's Dil Chahta Hai is still quite remarkable.

Zoya had Dimple and Juhi Chawla in Luck By Chance in decent roles.

She then had Shefali Shah's as one of the leads in Dil Dhadakne Do, playing a significant role. (she originally wanted Raveena for that role).

I am also glad that Farhan is making India's first female-led road trip film with Katrina and Priyanka, who are (by industry standards) in senior positions now.

Off course they've made films where they didn't have any 'older actress' but that's the whole point. They don't cast actresses just for the glam factor or tokenism. They give them for roles that matter to the film and the story, and I love that.

I would say married or 40 plus actors. Or actors who have been around for more than 2 decades or so.

And still get work or get good work.

Definitely the Akhtars esp Zoya. Vishal Bharadwaj for sure too! Very sad that no other film-maker comes to mind.

I appreciate Salman working with Bebo in Bodyguard and Bajrangi Bhaijaan and with Katrina in Bharat or Tiger series without bothering about age or Akki working with Kat in Sooryavanshi and Vidya in Mission Mangal.

Agree on Vishal. He gave good work to Tabu and Shabana when others had stopped working with them.

Nagesh Kukunoor, Prakash Jha, Onir are others who give good work to older actresses like Nandita, Shabana, Juhi etc.

I wish these examples were not only a handful, barring Ajay most of these actors prefer to work with younger actresses or the most they would like to be paired opposite is Kareena to not make themselves look too old or creepy.

Just bring back Aamir Juhi, Karishma Salman, SRK Kajol, Rani, Preity and make that a norm. That would be much better. But that's just not a problem in Bollywood so I don't want to criticize BW actors too much. Just something I would love to see more of.
