🏏WPL 2023: RCB Women vs UP Warriorz Women - Match 13 - 7:30PM IST 🏏

WPL 2023 Match 13 UPW vs RCB Match Prediction Who Will Win Today

UP Warriorz sit on third place in the WPL standings, whereas, Royal Challengers Bangalore find themselves at the bottom.

The inaugural season of the WPL 2023 hasn’t fared well for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB-W) so far; they have lost all of the five matches that they have played this season thus far as their woes continue in both the batting and bowling departments.

UP Warriorz (UP-W), on the other hand, are having a better season as compared to their opponents. Out of the four matches they have played, they have managed to win two and lost two to Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.

Skipper of UP Warriorz, Alyssa Healy, has been in sensational form. Healy scored 58 runs in their previous game against Mumbai Indians, however, the skipper's half century was in vain as MI eventually won the game.

With 185 runs in four matches, Healy is one of the best performers of the tournament.

One of the biggest names from England, Sophie Ecclestone, is making quite an impact for UP Warriorz as well.

She is the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with eight wickets in four games. It would be no surprise if she comes through to put in another excellent performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Today, my best wishes are with RCB and its Captain Smriti Mandhana⭐️

WPL 2023, UPW vs RCB blog: Spinners and Healy's 96* power UPW to big win,

UP Warriorz:

Warriorz's starts with the bat have improved since they have switched to a left-right combination by promoting Devika Vaidya at the top of the order. Despite all single-digit scores so far, UP have backed the uncapped duo of Shweta Sehrawat and Simran Shaikh and if they continue to do so, bringing in Grace Harris for contingencies will not only lengthen their batting order but also give them an additional spin option.

Probable XI: Devika Vaidya, Alyssa Healy (c & wk), Kiran Navgire, Tahlia McGrath, Shweta Sehrawat, Deepti Sharma, Simran Shaikh, Sophie Ecclestone, Shabnim Ismail/Grace Harris, Anjali Sarvani, Rajeshwari Gayakwad

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

There are a couple of injury/illness concerns in the squad which saw Kanika Ahuja miss out her first game of the season. If available, the left-handed alllrounder should be back in the XI.

Probable XI: Smriti Mandhana (c), Sophie Devine, Ellyse Perry, Heather Knight, Richa Ghosh (wk), Shreyanka Patil, Disha Kasat/Kanika Ahuja, Megan Schutt, Asha Shobana/Sahana Pawar/Poonam Khemnar, Renuka Thakur, Preeti Bose

WPL 2023, RCB vs UPW Highlights: Devika Vaidya, Alyssa Healy help UP trounce Bangalore by 10 wickets | Sports News,The Indian Express

What to expect: A bit of early swing, a bit of turn later. If you're a bowler, chances are you're starting to like DY Patil better now that the two pitches are getting a bit older.

UP-W vs RCB-W Pitch Report

The surface at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy has been a batter-friendly one so far, and a high-scoring match is expected as the team batting first is bound to have the advantage. A score between 160 -180 should be good on the wicket.

RCB vs UPW Highlights WPL 2023 Latest Updates: Alyssa Healy, Sophie Ecclestone Power UP Warriors to 10-wicket Win

Mathematically, Royal Challengers Bangalore can still make the Eliminator despite the wretched start to their WPL 2023 campaign. The catch, you ask? They'd want every result to go their way from here on. RCB need Mumbai Indians to keep dominating like they have, except lose to them; Delhi Capitals to go down to only MI and then a favour from Gujarat Giants in their clash against UP Warriorz. That is, of course, if they win all their three remaining games, starting with the one against Alyssa Heal-led Warriorz they will get a chance to enter into the next phase.

Of their five straight losses, the one against Delhi Capitals will hurt RCB the most and also give them confidence in equal measure.

The spin-enabled comeback to drag a sub-par 150 chase to the final over and death-overs fightback that had been missing from them in the first leg was on display in their DY Patil debut where they came the closest they have to winning in this competition so far.

Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh's fireworks in the 34-ball partnership worth 74 are positive signs for RCB who have struggled for acceleration after bright starts in the powerplay.

However, they'd also want to see their captain return to her dominating self at the top of the order. Bowling wise too, Perry, Megan Schutt and their uncapped spinners did remarkably well to pull DC back towards the end and, for what it's worth, it was the most economical their bowling had been this season.

With the pitches starting to show some mercy to bowlers - there was swing on offer in powerplay and turn after that on Monday - Warriorz would be hoping to prolong RCB's misery and consolidate their third spot. Spin is UPW's strengths, and the troika od Sophie Ecclestone, Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad will be licking their lips.

Warriorz's campaign has ebbed and flowed so far. Every victory has been followed by a loss and that's something the team would want to rectify soon.

Healy and Tahlia McGrath have hit top-gear after an off colour start to the season, but the overseas stars have mostly carried the batting responsbility which remains an area of concern for them.
