Sacrifice - one shot
"Nehmat ab mere sath wapas apne ghar jayegi",
Rupi 's fierce tone taunting his estranged daughter Jasmin who left no stone in creating hurdles in the family. First she ruined her sister, Tejo's life and at present she was after her daughter, instead.
Rupi could see very clearly what jasmin was upto. She just wanted to get rid of Nehmat from Kapoor's house
Advait remained silent and preferred not to interfere. It would be better if Nehmat left on her own. His stand for the election had been taken over by his younger sibling, Nikhil.
Moreover, the marriage didn't make any sense. She loved someone else
Rupi turned towards his son in law and stated.
" Tujhey toh ferak nehin pedta ki Nehmat tere sath hain ya nehi. Is baap ke uper aek ehsan karde. Divorce ke paper per sign kar ke , meri beti ko humesha ke liye is zabardasti ki shadi sey mukt karde".
He nodded in agreement, arrogantly as though he was not affected.
" Ok , as u wish ".
"Chal beta, tera nanu abhi zinda hain. Ab tu sirf mere sath rehegi ".
The duo left .
Jasmin was glad that her plan worked. Finally she threw Nehmat out of Kapoors. Naaz can have whatever she wanted. Nehmat won't come in her way. Advait will not stand in rhe election. He will have to step down
He slept well in his bed finally relieved that he would be freed from the burden of the forced marriage little realising that she would surely return into his life again with a twist of destiny.
The next morning, Nehmat walked into Kapoor's to collect her things. Everyone ignored her. . Advait was getting dressed as she walked in.
" Don't u have manners to at least knock before u come in?".
She apologised politely stating she only came to collect her stuff
He ignored and walked out of the room.
Then he stopped and turned towards her,
" Divorce papers tumhare ghar pahunchjayenge, sign kardena. Tu meri zindagi ki sab se bedi gelti hain".
Tears rolled down her cheeks hearing his taunts. Perhaps the end of the marriage was the best solution for both of them
A few hours later,
He returned to his room after spending the day with some clients on a business deal meeting now that he had time in hand as he was no longer a part of the election campaign.
It hurt him to lose his stand after all those years of struggle and efforts. When he was getting closer to his achievements, he married the wrong woman who took away everything.
Three weeks passed and they did bump into one another occasionally but he ignored her most of the time as though she didn't exist and carried no importance to him
One fine day, his perception about her changed forever when he walked out of his office talking on a phone at the roadside not paying attention to an oncoming speedy car where the driver lost control due to brek failure and almost rammed into him to kill him through a painful death.
She saved him in the nick of time, getting badly injured. She risked her life for him.
For a man, who never accepted her as his wife..
For a man, who didn't trust and value her.
For a man, who didn't realize her goodness and worth.
For a man who was forcefully tied to her as her husband
For a man, she hardly knew
For a man, she never loved
Yet, she was willing to sacrifice her precious life for him
Sacrifice!
Was a big word to describe. It was priceless.
His life mattered more to her.
But why??
Still extremely shocked with her deadly action with tons of questions in mind, he carried her in his arms and rushed to the nearest hospital literally running and screaming to anyone who came in his way.
" Hath jao!!".
There was curfew everywhere due to road blocks as the election campaign already begun. The traffic was bad.
Finally, he reached the nursing home and screamed at the top of his lungs for immediate attention. The doctors attended to her .
Surgery took place on the spot.
He moved to and fro outside the operation theater praying for her well being.
Her sacrifice was too much to handle.
He was important to her despite not being the man she wanted to spend her life with but she was willing to give away her precious life for him.
This was totally absurd. He didn't have the exact words to describe the gratitude he had towards her at that time for giving him a chance to live
After a long wait, finally he received the good news The surgeon reassured her stability.
Phew!!! He felt relieved. She survived.
He was praised for bringing her in the nick of time so saving her became more easier. She sacrificed her blood, he sacrificed his sweat.
Sacrifice,
The new equation between them that marked their new journey as husband and wife once again as he made the firm decision that he will never divorce her.
He married the right woman despite a forced marriage.. The woman who could go to any extend for him.
If she could sacrifice her life for him ,so could he. He could sacrifice the election campaign for her. So what if he lose his political career. At least he didn't lose his life which was way important to him than anything else
He owed her his breathes and pulses. He took her to his own home after she was discharged requesting her grandfather to forgive his Idiocracy and immaturity. He had finally realized her worth.
He may not love her but he will make sure not to hate her too. She will be treated with respect in his home as his wife.
The forced marriage turned out a friendship journey for a husband and wife after a huge sacrifice.
