Happy 80th birthday Amitabh Bachchan

Arguably one of Hindi cinema’s biggest superstar, Amitabh Bachchan turns 80 today. Bachchan has been working for over five decades in showbiz and has not only worked in different film industries, but has successfully dabbled in nearly all mediums, including but not limited to television. Many stars have over the years cited him as an influence, including Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. Big B has constantly managed to reinvent himself over the years and keep himself relevant in a business which is all about change.

Abhishek made his film debut in 2000 with 'Refugee' opposite Kareena Kapoor. During a candid conversation with his father on the sets of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 14', he recalled: "You must be remembering how during the screen test of my first film you came to Kamalistan Studios to help me in the rehearsals of my lines."

Later he also added that he would read the best script of his life. He said: "I am going to read the best script of my life today." This brought tears in the eyes of Big B and Jaya.

Jaya also shared a few memories from his past and also asked him about the time he would like to go back in his life. Big B was also seen getting emotional while going back to his early days of life."

Abhishek also posted on his Instagram handle about the special birthday celebration on the sets of the show. "It took a lot of secrecy, a lot of planning, a lot of hard work and a lot of rehearsals to get it right. But then again, he deserves no less! It was very emotional to be able to surprise dad and celebrate his 80th Birthday at the place he loves the most, his workplace," he said.

Akshay shared a throwback picture of himself in the company of his 'Family' co-star. Akshay wrote in the caption: "Sending my best wishes to the man who's the one single reason behind an entire generation wanting to be a hero in films."

Calling the veteran star an inspiration, the 'Hera Pheri' actor further mentioned in his caption: "My inspiration, Bachchan Saab ! Wish you a very happy 80th birthday @amitabhbachchan sir."

The two have worked together in films such as 'Family', 'Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo', 'Ek Rishtaa' and 'Waqt'.

Anupam Kher took to Instagram and shared a string of photographs. The two actors have previously worked together in films like 'Akhree Rasta', 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', 'Paheli', and 'Mohabaatein' to name a few. The two are reuniting after many years for Sooraj Barjatya's film 'Uunchai'.
