I believe bollywood as an industry have lost respect after SSR controversy.

Bollywood no more has same charm like it used to be before COVID. They r looked in negative light n have gotten a bad image altogether.

Their continuous copying of South movies also made them loose respect.

Launching nepo kids one after other also added fuel to fire.

Poor writing n execution is main reason for movies getting flop. Good movies r still working.

I don't think the real world movie going audience even knows or cares about these trends. If a film is good and loved by masses it will work and collect numbers no matter what.

The trailer itself was such a major put off. And Aamir's acting seemed so bad in it🤔

The fact is Bollywood is just making bad movies but they are blaming the failure on something or the other. I mean all that is coming out these days is remakes or biopics or just bad/boring movies. They just need to stop giving so much money to the actors and concentrate on writing and direction. Due to these stars charging humongous amount the budget these days on movies very high. Even if the movie collects fairly good amount the movie still will be a flop. I don't think now any movie would work just because of star power. There needs to be good content

Why are people surprised? Nowhere in the world does an industry shit on its consumers and lives to tell a tale.

Some Bolly folks themselves admit that they don't watch Bollywood films. They watch "elite and classy" cinema apparently.

If you're going to label your core audience as some dim-wit slave who's there to be exploited, what do you expect?

Bottomline is, most Bollywood big-wigs have such a self-loathing complex, they hate their Indian-ness and yearn for the Queen's "eliteness and classiness."

SoBo kids are proud of the fact that they can't speak Hindi fluently. For them, English is their native language. The irony is that their English isn't any better either.

Aamir Khan was one of the most respectable figures for many Bollywood fans and followers. Whether it was the ridiculous Dhoom 3 or the offensive PK, Bolly fans lapped those movies. But times have changed.

It's baffling how Bollywood treat their core audience. You don't demand respect. You earn it. If you're going to act like some elite fool, the audience is going to push back. That's what we're seeing here.

The film did not get a bad opening it is in top3

These days with Covid19 and inflation the audience may be experiencing financial constraints

Also most films are available on ott after one month and public’s habits have changed during covid

Why did he give LSC a bad review? So is he saying the film being a bad had no impact on the boxoffice?

Yes let's all blame everyone but the movie being a super boring.

Also when you have Kareena Kapoor openly saying "If you don't want to watch, don't watch". Now live with it.

Bollywood is like Manchester United, they see problem with everyone else but themselves. The whole system has rotten, and unless their is a huge fix everyone will suffer.

Not just boycott calls but sustained propaganda and lies, smear campaigns against Khans is affecting their films.

All sorts of lies have been circulated against Khans. Aamir has been accused of wanting to return his Padma awards, leave India, falsely accused of meeting a Pak based terrorist when he went for Hajj to Saudi Arabia, labeled a serial love jihadi for marrying two Hindu women and has long been targeted by BJP ever since he spoke against Modi, 2002 riots and NBA andolan issue. Earlier his films like Fanaa were banned in Gujarat when Modi was CM.

Boycott calls were trended for Dhoom 3, PK, Dangal also.

But it was not able to affect him.

Now internet and social media propaganda have grown and Aamir himself has deleted his social media ids and remained underground. He also marketed LSC way less.

LSC is the least marketed Aamir film in a decade. Hardly any promos on TV or marketing like 3 Idiots or Ghajini or TZP, RDB. No live events, not many interviews nor live chats online. Aamir is speaking less. Hardly appeared with cast or released merchandise. He himself only seems to be reluctant or offering apologies or explanations on his divorce also.

Most thanda marketing for an Aamir film.

It was bound to not take off. It has a stale cast anyway and people have already seen enough of Aamir and Bebo.

If story was good or marketing was good or if Aamir marketed it better and propaganda against him was less or he addressed smear campaign against him I think it would do well.

The trailer itself was so pathetic. How can audiences be interested after seeing that? Trailer was bad, songs were unknown. What were they expecting?
