Not that there's anything necessarily untoward about the term "regional cinema"... BUT two things:
1. The name Aishwarya Rai and the word "regional" do not go together in any sort of sentence except my one here which points out the oxymoronity. She has been and will always be a Global Superstar. So do please join the 30th Year celebrations with us next year at your nearest L'Oreal branch.
2. Ash's first film is in fact Iruvar (1997) which, yes you guessed right, is a film in the Tamil language.

Ashu-ma has acted in films in 5 different languages: Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, English (additionally her character in the 2016 Hindi film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (🥳) spoke in Urdu.
