i understand where she is coming from, for us a pushpa or rocky might be unrelatable but rags to riches, a laborer, slum, village, a migrant are relatable to a lot of audience. they identify with the struggle which is real , the feats they do maybe superhuman though

just like amitabh was in his heydays zanjeer, kaala pathar etc, even rajesh khanna in middle class movies like anand or bawarchi

one can't imagine any of these star kids fitting in those roles, they probably wont look convincing as middle class too, the way vidya balan was in tumhari sulu and raj kumar or ayushman are.

jhanvi ruined sairat remake.

the problem is there is no acknowledgement of outsiders whatever their accomplishments are,

vicky and ayushman, rajkumar have won national awards for great performances, we never see any recognition of that, it is just buried. imagine if ranbir or alia had won it for their initial movies, we wouldn't have heard the end of it

Star kids have been brought up in the posh areas of Mumbai. Most of them have studied in similar expensive schools. They have similar social circle from childhood. So they will behave in same way.

That is such an odd complaint to have about this current generation of nepo actors of all things...

Like seriously in what world are the likes of Suhana, Khushi, Shanaya, Ishaan so good looking that they are no longer relatable to most of the audience ?

And since when does being too good looking cause people to fail in films 🤣?

Is she covertly buttering up the nepos and giving TW actors a backhanded compliment I wonder...

I think she means, too smooth, groomed and polished, flawless, all with perfect skin, sculpted bodies and styled hair like they have an real world insta filter on.

there is no rawness, flaw, gaucheness about them, say like what a sridevi, madhuri, karisma or even a anushka was when she started

i wont blame them for that. They are highly scrutinised and netizens are always looking for chances to troll them. And they are trolled mercilessly. One wrong statement and the gloves are off. Just recently Ananya sarcastically played dumb on TKSS and next day kangana made fun of her. Ppl on this forum applauded kangana for it🙄. Called her 'savage' and stuff and thought ananya deserved it😞.  That's how much we hate them. And their parents usually want to protect them from this kind of negative scrutiny which is why they send them outside the country so that they can have a normal life.

agree its  a no win, which is why they keep claiming they are also under pressure but its not the pressure of struggling for your next meal level desparation so people don't relate and mock

Isn’t it the same with south stars kids tho? And all these women you mentioned debuted in an era where social media was non-existent, now netizens will troll you even for a little pimple

Most of these women you said were taunted for their looks then and even now people still attack them for their previous flaws saying Karishma had no style or grace when she debuted with those thick eyebrows. That Kareena was gauche and fat when she came out. That Kajol was too dusky and should get rid of her unibrow. That Priyanka and Shilpa got nose jobs. Or that Juhi was too chunky. You could go on and on with just about every actress being criticized no matter how beautiful she may be considered.

I agree this era is different , scrutiny is much more, but once you perform it dies like for alia or ranbir. most don't and people pick on that

but suriyas brother karthi in tamil debuted in a total rustic raw movie, of course it was a while ago.

nag chaitanya was a total lower middle class guy in majili, even mohanlal's son looks "normal" in hridayam. even a prabhas, jr ntr don't look styled, agree that they are not from recent too. allu arjuna and ram charam have done stuff and polished themselves.

the larger point is that they can fit into middle class, rural roles like pushpa etc. only ones in hindi who can are vicky, aysuhman and raj kumar, star or non star most are too polished, like they are so unware that they will wear a fitted shirt with 6 pack even when playing a small town guy
