The only kpop idol I admire, Thai Lalisa Manoban, has almost the same number of followers as Priyanka. Look at her most recent post's engagement after mere 3 hours. Wow.

It's all about how many YOUNG fans you have, because they are the ones that are super active on insta.

Also these international stars we compare with have had a recent breakthrough, unlike PC and DP who have been around for close to two decades.

Imagine some 40+ man/woman who likes an Indian actress, follows them but forgets about their insta account after that because they have bigger things to deal with. So these older stars have a lot of older followers that are dormant/inactive.

For eg look at JLo, almost 200 million followers but barely 1% engagement. So it's not about followers but how young they are.

You sure have a point here. On the other hand, maybe the content is the problem? I don't follow Bollywood's stars (the only exception being Madhuri) - do they have something interesting to offer? And what about other social media (Facebook, Twitter, TikTok)? Is their presence on those different depending on the medium? Finally, what about the young actors who are "happening", like Alia? Her engagement rate is laughable, too.

Marvel stars have insane social media engagement around their movie release!

Most BW celebs can't even crack 10K likes on Twitter which is embarrassing!

Just checked Alia's page and you are right- her engagement rate is also low.
