I tried to compare the two teri meri sequences. 

In the 1st teri meri, they divulged their suppressed love in the form of dance. But in 2nd teri meri was not a dance, but a desirous dream of Arnav, what he wanted to see since he met Khushi. And today after going through this separation, he couldn't resist.

Well said, the first dance of swans was for displaying love at the first stage, to say I love you through gestures and all but the second one was to accept it wholeheartedly.

This is one of my fav song too. I am just wondering how can anyone not feel the heat of the moment. Khushi must feel all sorts of things, the burn, the yearning was mutual. I love how he still looks at her the same way when they met first.
