These same people(basically the slaves of the you know who) will fondly and tastefully devour the shit served by the scums like Kangu but have a problem when a sensible thing ,in a more respectful manner, was said by someone else.

Where is the lie though.

Haven't seen the complete video but the tragic truth is that there definitely are two Indias. Anyone who says otherwise is in denial.

The monologue was good. Screw the people who feel he's let the country down; at this point India could really do with some international 'outrage'.

But wtf was he doing at the Kennedy Center ?  He's just  not funny enough.

MUMBAI: Comedian Vir Das, who is known for giving controversial statements, is being brutally trolled by online users for his “I come from two Indias’ monologue that apparently “insults the nation”.

Meanwhile, an advocate Ashutosh Dubey has filed a case against Das defaming and spoiling the image of India in the USA.

Das, who is currently in the US, had uploaded a video on YouTube, titled "I come from two Indias" that was part of his recent performance at the John F Kennedy Centre in Washington DC.

In the six-minute video, Das talks about the duality of the country and mentions some of the most topical issues India is facing, from its battle against COVID-19, incidents of rapes, crackdown against comedians to the farmers' protests.

A section on Twitter posted clips and pictures from his monologue, specifically the part where the comedian said, “I come from an India where we worship women during the day and gang-rape them during the night."

In view of the controversy, Das issued a statement on Tuesday clarifying that his comments in his monologue "I come from two Indias” weren't intended to insult the country.

The 42-year-old took to Twitter and posted a note, stating that his intention was to sever as a reminder that the country, despite its issues, was "great."

"The video is a satire about the duality of two very separate India's that do different things. Like any nation has light and dark, good and evil within it. None of this is a secret. The video appeals for us to never forget that we are great. To never stop focusing on what makes us great.

"It ends in a gigantic patriotic round of applause for a country we all love, believe in, and are proud of. That there is more to our country than the headlines, a deep beauty. That's the point of the video and the reason for the applause," his statement read.

Das wrote that people cheer for the country with hope and not "hate" and asked his followers to not be misled by edited clips.

"Please do not be fooled by edited snippets. People cheer for India with hope, not hate. People clap for India with respect, not malice. You cannot sell tickets, earn applause, or represent great people with negativity, only with pride. I take pride in my country, and I carry that pride across the world.”

"To me, a room full of people anywhere in the world, giving India an ovation is pure love. I ask of you, the same thing I asked of that audience...To focus on the light, remember our greatness, and spread the love," he added.

Those 6 mins were amazing!    Well done Vir Das!    He's just so good.

And lo and behold, the same folks who are offended by what Vir said are the very ones who will trend #IStandWithKangana for the filth she spews 🥱

Jab wapis India jayega ye banda, shayad jail mein hi na daal de.  That's the norm these days na?  Journalists, comedians, farmers, muslims, news channels who refuse to prostrate to the Dear Leader - few of the favorites who are being targeted.

There is no accountability for the crooks in the Govt, no accountability to ministers and their kids who mow down people, but yeah please, go after journalists and comedians.  F******* a********

PM Shri Shri Modi says Indians used to feel ashamed to call themselves Indian before he came to power.

And it’s not even a true statement but he wasn’t asked to leave India. Modiji kare toh raas leela but Vir kare toh character dheela?

At least Vir is speaking truth but complete truth. May be that is what is really bothering these idiots who have a problem with his talk. They are all having a collective meltdown because they know what Vir said is undeniably true!
