HDDCS is better because it has no shitty in laws like Dhadkan. Kind of progressive that way as her husband wants to reunite her with her lover and also respects consent and does not impregnate her when she is yet to accept him entirely. Lover is also better in HDDCS as he makes peace with what happened no matter how sorrowful he is. He is not a bitter vengeful man who wants to destroy heroine's dad or husband or break her new family. 

HDDCS is regressive but has better production values, music, better actors, better sets, better looking actors and is less bitter/regressive compared to Dhadkan which is more like a 1980s B grade family drama due to Akshay's crude, scheming, caricaturish step family.

Not even a patch..Aish was really really good as Nandani and it left far far more impact thanks to an entire better team esp SLB..shilpa was nothing spectacular in Dhadkan and her nose looked too fake in the movie..good she went for a 3rd nose job after it..
