One stole over their heads, his hands on her waist and hers on his shoulders, faces inches apart, lips on the verge of touching. They were about to share their first kiss.
“Vansh Bhai!” screamed Ishani from her room.
Startling both, Vansh and Riddhima. They pulled back and for the first time, Vansh cursed Ishani for ruining one of their most precious moments.
Holding Riddhima by her shoulders, he made her sit down on the mattress.
“Don't go anywhere,” he informed her.
He can't forget that his wife is drunk and can do a number of things, for example: jump into the pool.
Riddhima sat down like a kid and nodded while she watched her husband leave.
Once he was out of sight, she saw the bowl of meethi baat prepared by her, “You still didn't eat the meethi baat!” she whined and again looked at the meethi baat like it's the most interesting thing in the room.

“What is it, Ishani?” He entered the room and saw his sister's hand tied up.
“Ask this servant of yours,” she said, glancing towards Angre.
“He's your husband, Ishani.” Dadi reminded her and Ishani rolled her eyes.
“Boss, Ishani was going to drink alcohol which is harmful for her so I kept the bottle out and tied her hands,” Angre explained.
“You don't need to give me an explanation Angre, I trust you,” he turned to Ishani, “You need to improve, Ishani. Because of that bottle of yours, Riddhima is drunk. I need to be with her,” he said and left the room.

Riddhima heard footsteps coming towards her and assuming it to be Vansh, she turned around holding the bowl of meethi baat in her hands.
“You came back?” she asked, stirring the spoon into the meethi baat.
“For you!” she heard the answer.
Lifting her head, she saw Vansh coming towards her and sitting down on the mattress. She sat down beside him as well.
“What happened to Ishani?” she asked.
“Nothing, just night drama. Ignore it!” he answered.
She forwarded the bowl of meethi baat to him, “meethi baat.”
“I know,” he answered smiling and accepted it.
“Did you eat anything?” he asked and she shook her head.
He forwarded a spoonful of meethi baat to her, “It's for you,” she said.
“I want to share it with you,” he answered.
She opened her mouth to say something but he put the spoon into her mouth, instead.
She smiled looking at him while he had the meethi baat.
“It's delicious,” he praised and she blushed.
Eventually, the bowl got empty and was placed at the side.
“What more would you want to share with me?” she asked, all her focus on him.
“My life,” he answered honestly, looking into her eyes.
His eyes depicted love, honesty, care and all the emotions which she wanted to see in her spouse.
He held her hand in his and glanced at the moon in the dark sky. Riddhima too, was the moon in his dark life.
His chaand.
Riddhima still looked at him; how could she think of him to be a criminal? How could she think that she could send him off to jail?
She can't.
She won't.
Not when she has started to feel for him. Even if he was a murderer, he must have killed many people but not anymore, not when she would be at his side.
She wouldn't let him kill anyone and most importantly not any innocent.
“Why are you looking at me?” Vansh asked as he noticed her gaze over him.
“I don't know,” she answered and he looked at her while she added, “I want to look at you.”
He smiled.
He had always seen her as a spy. Roaming around his mansion to search for proofs or dig out the past but today, he saw her as a kid.
As his wife.
Not that he hadn't seen her as his wife but today, he felt that too.
It doesn't matter if she had entered into his life for a motive when now, he has fallen for her. He doesn't care who was a member in her past for now, her present and future would be him.
Only him.
“You know, when I was in the hostel; Sejal and I would sneak out in the night to go for walks on the beach and gaze at the night sky,” Riddhima said and her eyes depicted how much she craved the moment.
What he couldn't understand was, Did she miss the walks on the beach at night? Or the walks on the beach with Sejal at night?
“You really love nights?” be asked.
She nodded, “I love to gaze at the moon and stars at night, more.” she answered.
She looked at Vansh, he was the moon in her life amongst all the stars she had met; Kabir was one of them.
He hummed.
“Let's go back to the room,” he said and saw her standing up.
Even though this place had his heart now, he couldn't ignore that it was getting cold and to add to that, his wife was still slightly high.
He stood up too and saw her looking at him. Perhaps, he must be looking too good today for she can't divert her eyes from him whereas for him, he could never divert his eyes from her.
Her face shined brighter because of the lights around but his attention drifted down to her lips. Had it not been his sister's call, he would have claimed her lips long back.
Riddhima took a step forward, not breaking the contact which they have been maintaining.
She closed her eyes and exhaled, gaining courage, she stood on her toes and pulled his lips into a sweet and promising kiss which he had eagerly responded to.
Actions speak louder than words.
This action of theirs spoke a lot for the other. Along with the kiss, there was a promise of trusting, loving and understanding the other, wholeheartedly.
Their lips moved as one under the bright moonlight which reflected their face.
Out of breath, they broke the kiss and Riddhima blushed heavily. Vansh smiled at her reaction.
Holding her by her waist, he led them to their room.
The moon wasn't just a witness to their first kiss but also to the silent promise which they made to the other.
The kiss broke but the promise would stay.
