I like that PP parents are sane and will try and drive some sense into her

Virat need to apologize but pushing her to forgive at this point is stupid. He needs to give her space to think , heal.

If he really wants then he has to shift out with AAI let her live her life as a normal person and give her lot of care and respect. Their relationship lacked something imp that is communication.

I feel respect and trust is earned and not given due to burden of a relationship

"Ab iss ghar mein, aur mere dil mein, Sai ke liye koi jagah nahi hai."

"Main Sai Joshi ke saath saara rishta khatam karta hoon."

Every word he had uttered that night, every insult her had thrown at her, came back to haunt him, over and over again. Sleep was the last thing on his mind now. It had been a week... a week since Sai left him, a week since that horrendous night. Ever since then, Virat had hardly spoken to anyone. His Aai... his only voice of reason, refused to speak to him. Shivani Bua and Mohit were avoiding him too. Only Kaku, Omi Kaka, Sonali Kaku and his father tried talking to him, tried to cheer him up. He was now the chaheeta beta again, now that he had kicked Sai out of the house. Pakhi came to his room to check on him, and matter how many times he asked her to leave him alone, she always came back.

No matter how much he missed her, he had never let that realisation sink in. After all, she had broken his trust, she had broken his heart. But that was before the truth was unveiled. After hearing of Sai's predicament, Pulkit had come along with Devyani to reveal the entire truth behind this fiasco, about how Kaku, Omi Kaka and his father had conspired to kidnap Pulkit, about the fake letter that was typed by Pakhi, and about how Omi Kaka had bribed the office assistant, Vinayak, to tamper with Pulkit's official documents.

Bit by bit, everything came into light, and by the time he had pieced the entire truth together, he was a broken man. Yes, it was true. He was betrayed, but not by Sai. It was by his own family. The people who raised him. The people he respected immensely. All that feeling of love and respect vanished. Now all that remained was a sense of betrayal, and hatred. Pulkit had refused to file an FIR because all he wanted was Devyani to be reunited with him, and Sai had made it possible. He said that he didn't want punish them any further, as their conscience and living with the guilt will be punishment enough.

And Pakhi... what could he say about her? She was the woman who he fell in love with. Though he hardly knew her for a few days, he felt a connection with her. He truly believed that she was the one. But then, fate had other plans. Even after she had married Samrat and he had married Sai, he still respected her immensely. He always thought that she would be a voice of reason to him. Maybe if not a partner, he thought that she would always be his best friend. Someone to rely on. And her betrayal, for some reason, hit him the hardest, along with his father's.

Bhavani Kaku and Omi Kaka never hid their contempt for Sai or their shame for Devyani's condition. Neither did his father. But, Pakhi did. She never seemed to have a problem with Devyani and he thought that her outburst for Sai was due to Sai's anger and stubbornness. But little did he know that the woman who claimed to love him and only him harboured nothing but resentment in her heart and the essence of venom in her soul? And if his heart had sought her out, did it mean that he was as bad too?

Maybe he was. If he weren't, he wouldn't have kicked an innocent girl out of the house in the middle of the night, especially when she had nowhere else to go. He should have protected her and he failed. He usually prided himself on his honesty and sense of justice, but now, he was filled with shame. What sense of integrity did he possess if he accused his wife of deception, based on a useless piece of paper? What sense of justice did he possess, when he saw what happened with his beloved sister for years, and yet did nothing about it?

Now, he lost her. He lost Sai. He lost the ray of sunshine in his otherwise humdrum life. He lost his reason to smile. And he didn't know if she would ever come back to him. His room, that was once lit by her warmth, now felt like a cold cave. Every corner of his room had a her memory etched on it. The side of his bed suddenly too light, without her lying next to him.

No. He couldn't be alone any longer. He was losing himself. He wanted to be around someone who would understand him, would let him vent his pain out. He wanted to be around someone who wouldn't just console him with a hidden motive in their mind. He needed his Aai.

He slowly made his way to Aai's room and opened the door. Aai was standing in the balcony, looking at the waning moon, her tears glistening in the moonlight. "Aai..." his voice came out in a faint whisper. Ashwini turned around to look at her son, who ran up to her and engulfed her in a hug.

Ashwini wanted to lash out at him, question him on why he separated her from her daughter. But she also knew real repentance when she saw one. The tears that Virat had been hiding, finally found an outlet. He let out a sob as he buried his face on his mother's shoulders and let himself cry. He cried his heart out as Ashwini held him, holding back her own tears. She slowly rubbed Virat's back as he cried, not stopping him as he cried like a child in his mother's arms. She knew that he needed this. All the pain, anger, guilt and regret he felt came out, as he held his Aai tightly.

"Aai... mala maaf kara." he managed to whisper between his sobs. Ashwini said nothing in return. She simply nodded as she caressed his head. Of course she had forgiven him. He was her Godu after all.

"Bhas Patralekha! Har baat pe apni rai dena zaroori nahi hai."

"Mujhe laga ki tum meri dost ho. Lekin ab, tumhara asli chehra mere saamne aa gaya."

"Tum meri nazron mein gir chuke ho Pakhi."

These were terrible things to hear from a person who once loved you. But Pakhi did hear them, from Virat's own mouth. The voice that once declared undying love for her, now held nothing but disgust, these bitter words hitting her right where it hurt. How could he do that to her? How could he manage to forget her? How could he just throw away the promise that he made to her in the matter of a few moments? Was her love not enough?

Blinded by tears, she sat beside her bedstead, burying her tear-stained face in her knees as she hugged herself. She could feel that tiny bit of happiness slipping away from her hand. Virat had fallen in love with Sai. He might not have realized it by now, but she had. She could see it in his eyes. The way he looked at her, the way he understood her, she could see it all. And now, her absence was killing him. He had moved on, but what about her? She was stuck in the same place, unable to move further, unable to go back. The ties that bound her to this house were broken.

Wiping her tears, she made up her mind. She pulled her suitcase from under the bed and started packing. She opened her neatly organized cupboard and roughly threw all her sarees and nightgowns into her suitcase. She needed to get out of this house. She closed her suitcase shut and looked around the room to see if she had missed something. Nothing. Good. Now all she had to do was book a taxi and leave. She quickly opened the uber app and booked a cab. The app indicated that it would take 11 minutes to arrive. Perfect. That would give her enough time to bid her farewells to everyone. She looked around the room that  had been her solace for the past 6 months. It strangely empty now, with all her belongings in the bag.

Her eyes fell on the photo of Samrat, and another photo of hers standing on the table next to her bedstead. Badi Mami had insisted that her photo too had to be placed next to Samrat's ever since she got to know that Samrat had taken that photo of hers along with him to Ladakh. The very thought made her feel terrible about herself. Even though Samrat didn't say anything, deep down, she knew that he had somehow found out about her and Virat. Neither did he question her, nor did he let anybody else in the family know. He just quietly removed himself from her life, without a trace.

"Would Samrat have felt what I'm feeling now?" she thought, as she moved closer to the table where the photos were. "Did he feel betrayed as I am feeling now?" her hands hesitantly reached out to trace Samrat's smiling face. Suddenly, her phone buzzed, notifying that her cab was here. Without thinking, she took her photo from the table and with Samrat's and put it in her suitcase before she stepped out of the room.

She walked to the living room, where Badi Mami, Ninad Mama, Omi Mama and Sonali Mami sat along with her mother-in-law. Putting on a dignified face, she walked up to Mansi Aai. "Aai... main kuch dino ke liye apni maayke jaana chahti hoon." she said, as she gently took Mansi's fragile hand in hers. "Theek hai Pakhi beta. Jaldi wapas aa jaana." said Mansi, as she gave Pakhi a pat on her head. Mansi knew nothing about the entire Devi Tai - Pulkit fiasco as she wasn't in town that week. And even after she came back, she was in her own zone, worrying about her missing son. Well, aai's son was her husband, and she should be worried too, realized Pakhi, with a pang.

She touched the feet of Badi Mami, Ninad Mama, Omi Kaka and Sonali Mami before she picked up her luggage. Just as she was about to step out, she saw Ashwini Mami come out of the kitchen. Leaving her bag at the door, Pakhi walked up to her and touched her feet. "Main kuch dino ke liye apni Aai - Baba ke ghar jaa rahi hoon Mami." she said, looking up at Ashwini. "Patralekha... jao. Apni Aai - Baba ke ghar jaake thoda aaram karlo, aur yahan jo bhi hua hai, uske baare mein thoda socho. Umeed karti hoon ki jab tum wapas aaogi, tumhe dekhne ke liye sab log dil se khush honge." said Ashwini, as she walked with her till the door. Pakhi glanced at Ashwini to see if there were some hidden meaning behind her words. But all she could was sympathy for her and wariness of her previous actions.

She got into the cab and rolled down the windows, letting the wind caress her face as the car sped on the road. Pakhi could feel her heart getting lighter and lighter as she moved away from the Chavan Nivas and got closer to home. For once, leaving the Chavan Nivas seemed like a good idea. For once, she wasn't leaving the Chavan Nivas because of some hidden motive. In fact, right now, it seemed like there was absolutely no reason for her stay back at the Chavan Nivas. She didn't expect anyone to come looking for her, and she didn't want to teach anyone a lesson. For the first time, she was going home on her own accord, because it felt like the right thing to do.

Lovely start!!

Virat is being guilty and sad..... I hope that also turns to some sensible actions and actions for precautions and warning.....

Pakhi finally chose to be sensible.... I wonder if kaku and gang understand anything or no and if they will try to mend things between Pakhi an samrat when the time comes.... They care for nthin most of the time...

Aai is soo sweet.... She is angry at her son but forgives him when he realised his mistake.... She also kinda forgave Pakhi when she started to behave in more sensible way....

Continue soon!!!

Happy writing!!!
