Chapter - 2
The room was full with beautiful photographs of their past years. Bondita's laugh filled his ears as he was looking at the photos and remembering those memories. Yes she has grown but the child inside her is still intact. She is still the cute Bondita of his and he smiled with those thoughts.
Now that Bondita is back, he doesn't have to wait for her letters and to reply her. She will stay infront of him all the time and this gave him a whole different feeling.
The big photo above the bed caught his attention, he couldn't help but imagine grown-up Bondita in the place and how a perfect couple portrait it would look. Wait did he just say "perfect couple" but when did they became a couple?? All these thoughts brought confusions and he had to stop his mind.
He then shifted his attention to Bondita who was standing at the door talking to his brothers and laughing whole heartedly. Tiny strands of hairs were flying in the wind and falling in her forehead, the golden jhumkas in her ears moving to and fro as she is laughing uncontrollably, the tingling sound of her bangles, everything was attracting him. He didn't wanted to take his eyes away from the angelic beauty in front of him. Yes she is beautiful in all the way, just perfect for him. Years ago she was just a child but the dynamics of their relationship has changed. She is not just his responsibility now but his responsibility because she is his wife. And these thoughts made him nervous.
"Are tum dono yahan kya kar rahe ho?? " came kaka's voice making everyone's attention to shift towards him.
Som replied, "hum toh baas boudhi ko humara surprise dikhane aye the"
Then kaka smiled and mentioned how they both were planning this from weeks.
Batuk then with a mischievous smile said, "sirf yahan nehii study me bhi hai surprise after all study toh dada aur boudhi ka dusra kamra hai" and they all laughed to this.
Kaka then gestured Koili to come and she entered holding two bags in her hand, which she handed one to Anirudh and the other one to Bondita. And to answer the question Kaka said, "Roy Choudhry k yahan itne salon baad khusiyan louti hai toh thoda jashn toh banta hai. Isliye aaj ghar par party hai" And he said he even had called the colleagues and friends of Anirudh from Calcutta so he had brought new clothes for both of them as he wants both of them to look the best.
Bondita smiled happily and started to open the bag thinking it to be a heavy banarasi saree but to her astonishment it was a beautiful net velvet saree of beige and navy blue combination. Both Anirudh and Bondita looked towards kaka seeing the saree and kaka smiled and said he himself had asked Sampoorna and Koili to buy modern saree because he knows there will be so many guests from Calcutta and he wants his bahu to look best and not feel embarrassed infront of them. Anirudh was happy as kaka has changed his thinking for Bondita.
Then Som and Batuk insisted Anirudh to open his bag and inside it was a beige suit with a navy blue shirt, exactly the same colour to Bondita's saree. Then Batuk said, "Som dada aur mein chun k laye hain apke liye ye. Hai na ek dum se couple vives wala outfit" making both of them to blush.
It was lunch time and today the dining table was filled with laughters and all the favourite dishes of our Anirudh and Bondita were placed, along with a big bowl of rosgullas specially made by Koili didi. It was after all a happy family moment for the Roy Choudhrys in the dinning table after ages.
After the lunch all headed to their room and Som and Batuk took Anirudh with them to spend some time with their brother and Bondita headed to her room to rest.
The brothers were talking happily and sharing the happenings of their life when out of the blue Som asked him, "aap boudhi ko kab batane wale ho dada?"
Anirudh was confused as to what he has to tell Bondita when Som said, "that you love her." hearing this Anirudh became still.
He loves Bondita how could Som think like that. Thus he tried to say something to defend himself when Som said, "apko kya lagta hai aapke chhupane se humhe pata nehi chalega. Aaj subhe dekha tha maine kaise ghur rahe the aap boudhi ko. Subah kya itne saal se apko bechain dekha hai hum dono ne. Us wakt hum chup the kyu ki boudhi yahan thi hin nehi lekin ab toh wo a chuki hai."
Batuk too added saying," it is high time dada confess it and start your life with her. Ab kis baat ki deri hai"
Anirudh was scared, confused, nervous and so many things were going in his mind he just replied them, "jaisa tum dono soch rahe ho esa kuch v nehi hai" and headed out of the room.
Anirudh moved to study as he was feeling awkward specially after hearing the word love
and he wanted to spend some time alone but to make it hard Som and Batuk had decorated the study too with their photos. Above the windows was a big photo of him and Bondita with the barrister robe and there was an empty frame beside it, probably to frame their recent photo.
In the table was a single photo of Bondita happily smiling to the camera. He took the frame in his hand and sat on the sofa lost in thoughts.
He had never thought before 9 years that he would be facing such a situation in his life. He wanted Bondita to achieve something, this was his promise when he married her. He didn't thought of anything else. But yes from long ago she had become the bahu of his house. But for this shouldn't she be his wife first?
Previously he denied this just to protect her from the customs but now she is not the child anymore, she is grown up to be his wife and she understand this relation pretty well too.
The mention of she being is wife made him blush. It was different, that "meri patni" tag when she was a child felt very different now. And he remembered Som's words, "do I really love Bondita??" he asked himself. And the smiling face of her crossed his mind. He looked at the photo frame in his hand and smilingly said, "kabhi socha nehi tha Bondita k tum bhi kabhi mujhe ese uljhan me dalogi"
He couldn't understood if it was love or not but yes he loved how his heart skipped a bit on mention of her name, he loved it as and when she called him patibabu, he doesn't know if it is love or not but he loves to get lost looking at her face all the time.
It felt as if a new world for him and these new found feelings just felt right. He didn't wanted to make himself confuse with the thought of loving Bondita or not. He wanted to enjoy this flutter of his heart. He wanted to live in the moment. He felt as if he has got one new reason to live.
"are dada uthiye aap kabse yahan pe ese so rahe hain" this voice made Ani to open his eyes. He had slept in the study itself in the same position holding the photo frame too. It surely was the effect of his tiring journey. But thank god that it was Batuk and no one else had seen him holding the photo otherwise what would have anyone thought. He felt quite embarrassed too with this and Batuk understanding it didn't asked anything.
He changed the topic saying, "wo boudhi ayi thi naa kamre mein dhundte hue apko, mujhe pata tha aap yahi honge toh me bulane agaya".
Hearing Bondita's name Anirudh was alert. "Bondita mujhe dhundne ayi thi, par kyu"
Batuk pace palmed himself, "kya dada aap bhi.. bhul gaye aaj party hai na, toh boudhi apko tayar hone kliye dhund rahi thi"
Alas with all the chaos in his heart he almost had forgotten about the party. So he headed to his room quickly.
Batuk looked at his retreating figure and smiled looking at the photo, he understood what his dada must be thinking.
Anirudh opened the room door in a hurry but seeing the sight infront of him made him still. Bondita was ready for the party in the very saree. The saree was so different from the one she wore in the morning. It was sticking to her body and was highlighting her curves. Probably the right word would be it made her look so hot.
The untied long hairs of her were in the front side and she was trying to tie the strings of her blouse. The slightly modern blouse and no pallu on head exposed an unknown territory to Anirudh. His eyes became intense and without a second thought he moved towards her and took the string in his hand and tied it himself. As soon as his hands touched her milky skin Bondita's breath hitched. She clutched her saree turning crimson red.
But the possessive side of Anirudh kicked in and not wanting anyone to see her like this, he brought her hairs to back side and whispered in her ears, "aaj baal khule hi chhodna" and Bondita being at a loss of words just nodded her head. Anirudh then took his clothes and headed to washroom not before turning back and looking at her. He smiled looking at her blush.
All this was a whole new feeling for both of them. Bondita was all shy and there were butterflies in her tummy and for Anirudh it gave a different sensation to his heart as if his heart found the solace it was yearning from so long.

So finally it is completed.
Writing Ani's feelings and of course Rudhita scene both were difficult for me. I tried writing romance first time. Don't know how it is.
