Vidya wouldn't be saying this a few years back when she wasn't married to Siddharth Roy Kapoor and her brother-in-law, Aditya Lazy Roy Kapoor wasn't purely surviving and getting films because of being a product of nepotism and NOT MERIT. It's laughable when you speak of hard work and meritocity being superior when you are related to ARK now.

Not just her weight. Her dressing sense, dating Shahid Kapoor, being a product of TV, being dropped from 11 films and being called 'manhoos'. She spoke about her struggles back in the day. But Alas, being married to an influential industry insider made her change her tunes.

She doesn't have to agree with your opinion. That doesn't make her tone deaf and ignorant. Nor does it make her open for harassment.
The industry has given her a lot and she appreciates that. Everyone has struggles - she did too but obviously she doesn't want to dwell on that or focus on negativity.

Her and Shahid were rumoured to be dating during Kismat Konnection, shortly after his breakup with Kareena. She was under alot of fire at that time.
And yeah, she mentioned how she was dropped from 11 films over night and almost fell into depression. Was termed as 'manhoos by many in the industry who were skeptical to work with her. She had to give multiple auditions just to land her role in Parineeta.She spoke on these before multiple times. But I guess now, she is secure which is great but changed her stance.
