Varun Dhawan - If not for Badlapur and Octobet, Varun wouldn't have been in the running altogether. These two movies are the only ones where his acting capabilities were seen, everywhere else it was overacting. However, I truly feel that Varun has it in him to be a good, versatile and effective actor but he is so stuck in the formulaic masala hitting making movies that he isn't doing justice to himself and us audience.
Ayushman Khurana - This guy has an amazing sense of choosing the right script. It's like if the movie features Ayushman, then it must be a good one. But when it comes to acting skills, I'm not so impressed. His acting and characters look and feel exactly the same in all his movies. Meri Pyari Bindu, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Savdhaan… each of his characters were exactly the same. He isn't a bad actor but he isn't the best either. He has a very similar one tone kind of acting which is consistent throughout all his roles. Varun dhawan showed some versatility with his two performance oriented films but Ayushman severely lacks versatility in playing the character.
Exceptions are in Article 15 and Andadhun, he was very good in those movies.
