TroyBoi calls out ‘Baaghi 3’ makers for ripping off his song ‘Do You?’, links it to Chiranjeevi copying Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’By - TIMESOFINDIA.COM

Feb 27, 2020, 13:23 IST

British record producer TroyBoi has come down heavily on Bollywood record label T-series for allegedly ripping off his song, ‘Do You?’.

This came after the makers of ‘Baaghi 3’ shared a sneak peek of their upcoming dance number ‘Do You Love Me?’ featuring Disha Patani. The song that is slated for its release today, had more than one similarity with the popular song that included the opening shot, the rhythm and the catchphrase.

Taking to social media, TroyBoi slammed the record label and expressed his displeasure in a series of Instagram stories that read, “Hoe ironic that my latest track was a tribute to India and then this happens…”

He also shared a clip of his song and Disha’s teaser video to prove the similarity between the two.

He further went on to state that this alleged plagiarism reminded him of the Chiranjeevi track that was a copy of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video.

Meanwhile, the makers of ‘Baaghi 3’ released a statement that they had bought the original rights of a 2012 track which was brought by The Bendaly Family, a Lebanese family band. Upon the inception of this thought, T-Series claimed that they acquired the rights from the family.

'Do You Love Me' is composed by Tanishk Bagchi, and rendered by Nikhita Gandhi. Apart from the hook line, the rest of the verses are said to be in Hindi.

The controversy aside, this film will mark Disha’s second outing with the 'Baaghi' franchise. The actress shared the screen with Tiger Shroffin 'Baaghi 2', however, this time around, she joined the movie only for a special song.

'Baaghi 3' is the third instalment of the action-thriller franchise 'Baaghi'. It also features Jackie Shroff in a pivotal role. Helmed by Ahmed Khan, the flick is set to hit the theatres on March 6.

How embarrassing for t series. With all that money, you still can’t produce an original for a movie.

Wow, now they're basically dancing in bikinis in item songs. Give it 10 years and we will get topless item songs like those showgirls in Vegas.
