Zaira Wasim had taken the whole film industry and fans by shock when she suddenly announced her disassociation from films saying she was not happy with the line of work citing that it interfered with her faith and religion. She had made her decision public and shared a long detailed note on her social media. While some head honcho’s from the industry respected her decision and showed support, some others criticized her for letting go of the golden chance.

Even before making this distressing statement, Zaira had given her nod for Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink, starring Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in the lead roles. The trailer of the film released today and has been garnering love and appreciation from all quarters. In addition to the trailer, Priyanka had also posted a few pictures of the cast, but it looks like the pictures did not go down well with several netizens who have slammed the Dangal actress left, right and center.

In one of the pictures, PeeCee shared, Zaira can be seen at a beach along with her other co-stars. The film’s star cast will be promoting the film ahead of its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 13. 

However, netizens call it all a publicity stunt on Zaira's part and do not appreciate her promoting the film after calling quits from the acting industry citing religion. 

Zaira was brutally trolled and many mean comments were thrown at her. One Twitter user wrote, "Here #ZairaWasim is on tour promoting her next film. Last I heard she left Bollywood because her faith doesn't allow.”, another user demanded a boycott on The Sky Is Pink,  "Let's respect the wishes of #ZairaWasim who regrets her professional choices and don't want to do that anymore, to be honest to her faith. Let's not watch #TheSkyIsPink and show solidarity with her choices in life."

Some called her a nautanki and even termed as a hypocrite."#zairawasim religion lover. She's already left Bollywood we know that but she is still in this upcoming movie's poster. Gajab ki drame baaz hai yaar."

 "Publicity stunt karne k liye Islam k naam kharab karne ki zarurat thi. Abhi aadhe nange kapdo me ghum rahi ho. #ZairaWasim #Hypocrite".

Another wondered if it was all a PR stunt and wrote, "I thought #ZairaWasim left Bollywood because her faith was getting affected. Was that just a PR stunt?"

The Sky is Pink is a biographical film, based on a love story of a couple, who lose their daughter to pulmonary fibrosis, a serious immune disease. The film is slated to release on 11 October 2019. 

I think that she is a product of the digital overshare everything in your life age, I think she is manipulative, impulsive and misguided.  With a knack for over-drama, without need because she is talented.

BUT She did commit to the film before she made her statement about retirement and it is to her credit that she is fulfilling that commitment.

She should not be held to her statement or bashed for finishing a project, in fact she should be praised.

She should be held accountable for her actions from here on forward.

Zaira hasn’t promoted the film and I don’t think she’s going to. She quit movies after filming this one, this is her last film. People need to leave this kid alone, that includes opening and discussing the same topic again and again. 

That picture of her on the beach with PC and Farhan is a still from the movie. They even showed glimpses of that in the trailer.  

I had strong opinions about Zaira and her announcement of retirement.  But from that moment on she really has disappeared from the limelight so this trolling is wasted 🙄.  

@criticusExpert, I agree with you about fulfilling obligations, except I don’t think even that’s happening here.  Unless legal teams get involved and make her promote the movie if it’s in her original contract.  But they might not want whatever negative publicity she might bring if she’s forced to promote the movie.  

The thing is Bollywood is really toxic for mental health. One must have a heart of steel to bear the bullshit and hang on. If she is not happy she is not at peace ,it's good she left. Talent is a good thing which helps you to make career but if your career doesn't gives you peace than its okay if you quit since you will not be able to do justice to your profession anymore. Guys in today's time when mental health is talked so much , why don't we and others who troll actors just leave them at peace for their choice which in no way affect us or harm us in our personal life and let ourselves be at peace too. 

how is she promoting the film? are these idiots fools or what? the cast of the film shall obviously share pictures from the whole cast including Zaira. this happens to be her last film and she announced her exit much before. leave the girl alone man, what nonsense ! 

She is not promoting it at all... Morons always ready to blaze the gun without even cross checking it...

Zaira from the interview I watched of her at the roundtable seemed insecure about her weight, I think she quit because of image makeover. Anyways never watched any of her movies so she seems annoying to me. PC with her over active PR, I am giving this movie a miss, not watching it.
