Bollywood is facing a stew of both, shiny and sluggish phases. There has been a constant flux when it comes to generating content for the movies. While on one hand we have unconventional scripts coming up and stories that need to be told, on the other hand, the showbiz seems to prevail with remakes and sequels, indicating the lack of original content. And in such a scenario, accusations of plagiarism come as another terror to the filmmakers and actors.
A Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has taken to her social media and publicly criticized Bollywood for its alleged hypocrisy. She claims that Alia Bhatt’s music video, Prada, is stolen from Pakistani songs, and further slams Shah Rukh Khan’s Netflix production Bard of Blood as well.
Hayat called out SRK’s production an “Anti Pakistan Project”, which stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role along with Kirti Kulhari, Vineet Kumar Singh, Jaideep Ahlawat, Amyra Dastur, and Sobhita Dhulipala. She wrote in her tweet, “This just vindicates what I have been saying. Another week, and yet another anti-Pakistan project. Now can we wake up, smell the coffee and see Bollywood’s agenda for what it is? Shah Rukh Khan, be patriotic, nobody is stopping you - just don’t do it at the expense of vilifying us.”
