FYI, opening is not proportional to quality of the trailer. Apart from trailer, it also depends on promotions, hype, expectations, cast etc (buzz). Buzz is the Very reason why race 3 and TOH had very good opening despite ok trailer. So buzz and quality of trailer doesn't mean same thing. For me quality of trailer is like/dislike ratio and the expectation the movie creates based on the trailer. Ratio is good and people are looking forward to see the movie - job of the trailer is done. Next step is to promote continuously and create buzz to ensure good opening

First of all, I was only talking about Zero and as a reply to that poster. Super 30 ka to naam bhi nahi liya. You were the one who jumped topic from Zero to Super 30. And no, I was not talking only about trailer. I was talking about online buzz of Zero pre-release, as you are saying.

Secondly, I suck at Maths, so your calculations and analysis went straight over my head. But quality of trailer directly effects the buzz of film as far as I know, compared to promotions or songs.

On your second statement, quality of trailer with various other things affects the buzz. There are 100s of examples to prove this.

I know the thread is about Super 30, and that's why quoted that person to talk about Zero. But you weren't able to resist and had to jump on me with your theories and analysis as you thought I'm some hater of Hrithik.

For a content film like Super 30, trailer is very important to get a good opening. The examples you gave of Race 3 and TOH had Salman and Aamir. One was a franchise film, other released on big holiday date with big star cast. Those are event films, can't be compared with Super 30.

Now what other things can create buzz according to you? I don't see this movie having chartbuster songs, as its not a romantic movie, party tracks are out of question. Promotions don't help the film much. In the end, promos will be highly considered by audience to whether watch the film on opening day or not.

I like the trailer but I feel HR is a miscast for the role. Will watch the movie in the theatre if the wom is good.

After swimming in a pool of controversies, Hrithik Roshan's 'Super 30' is finally going to hit the theatres soon and the trailer that just dropped proves that it's going to be one of the most promising films of 2019.

Ever since it was announced that a biopic is being made on Anand Kumar, founder of Super 30, starring Hrithik Roshan, the film has made more news than most of our mathematics scores combined. For those who didn't know, Super 30 is an academy that trains meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds for JEE exams 'for free'.

The 2-minute 37 seconds trailer shows Hrithik Roshan as Anand Kumar, a genius mathematician who is a celebrity among students for his unbelievable success rate when it comes to coaching. However, he gives up his lucrative job to help the underprivileged kids and ensure that every deserving kid gets a chance to make it big in the world.

Phantom Films

The dialogue, "Ab Raja ka beta raja nahi banega. Raja woh hi banega, jo haqdaar hoga", will go down in the history of Bollywood as one of the most impressive and hard-hitting dialogues ever.

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the reverse-transformation that Hrithik went through for the character? He has not only nailed the look, but his accent is also worth an applaud.

I was not comparing Super 30 with Zero in that post, and I'm definitely not expecting Super 30 to open at 20 crores. I know it has limited appeal, so 11-12 crore opening will be really good if it indeed has good pre-release buzz.

I was only talking about first day, as obviously, lifetime depends on trending and WOM.

Initial reviews shouldn't have effected Zero on first day. The WOM doesn't effect at such huge margin on opening day. It shoud've at least been between 25-30 Crore figure. But it didn't and that showed the testament of SRK's fading star power.

We are discussing in a public forum, if you don't want a rebuttal on your views then I suggest you drop a pm. Else, broaden your thought process to accept counter views.

As far as buzz creation is concerned, remember how Salman came up with RAPED WOMAN comment to create buzz for sultan. Now, before you come up with "its an event kind of movie and cannot be compared with super 30", consider manikarnika - how it remained in news for clash with super 30, various actors leaving and KR pulling hr controversy again.

And if you think promotions don't help much then those corporate production houses must be some lunatics to park crores aside for P&A
