Why people are so concerned about Akshay being a Canadian citizen or not and what's the harm in working in India when he is paying his taxes. He may be a Canadian citizen but that doesn't mean he cannot  work in patriotic movies or needs to explain to the media why he can't vote. He may be lying because people are so judgmental if someone gives up their citizenship. It's as if they have no right to live and work in a country. It's the same like people asking others who are critical about the country to leave the country.

Usually one remains a citizen of the country they work in, unless the government doesnt allow a citizenship......... If he had worked in Canada and taken up a canadian citizenship, it wouldnt seems so wrong.......... but being an Indian, staying in India, working, earning fame from Indians and giving up citizenship to some other country...... he is not exercising his right to vote......he is probably paying more taxes to Canadian government then Indian.........

it might seems okay to few.........but on a senti note, its kinda backstabbing........ esp since he is not declaring it openly....... chori chupe kar raha hai.......

It's completely his wish to do so if he is doing it legally and is paying taxes to the country he is working in. Many Indians too have worked in other countries and when they retire, they come back to India so that doesn't make them less Indian. People should not be so sentimental and judgmental about a person's place of birth and place of work as everyone is free to do what they please unless they are doing something illegal. A person can't choose where they are born but they have the option to change it and it nowhere means they are less worthy than other Indians are. He doesn't owe any explanation to media or people or fans about this as the Government knows which citizen he is. Media just need some controversy to talk about.

By being born in a country doesn't make anyone worthy of the citizenship nor anyone becomes a deshbhakt. Even a person like KRK did some crap deshbhakt movie so that makes him a patriot? And when does movies describe the level or patriotism and who are we to even question others when we haven't done anything worthy of being an Indian citizen? The requirements to get a citizenship don't count at all.

When Danny Boyle made a movie based on the truth of slums in India, deshbhakts like Amitabh started criticizing the movie and refused to act in it and then went on to act in 2 mins role in another Hollywood movie. This term patriotism is now made a joke off except when used by real army people who sacrifice their lives for the country while common people keep using this term more than the army people.

I'm no fan of Akshay Kumar but this criticism for taking up another citizenship and working in India is just silly. He is known for helping army men and here are some facts: https://www.indiatimes.com/entertainment/celebs/7-times-akshay-kumar-proved-that-he-is-the-most-humble-grounded-bollywood-actor-256888.html and to add he is not SUPPOSED to do it but still DOES CHARITY.

We are NOBODY to question anyone's patriotism. Anyone born here has every right to work here or anywhere he/she can. PERIOD.

Yes he should and give an honest answer instead of fibbing

It’s not going to go away...  People are not going to stop asking him about this, atleast not as long as his movies are successful
