One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Kalank hit the theatre on 17th April, 2019. The film starring Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt released on Wednesday, a holidays on occasion of Mahavir Jayanti earlier than its usual. After being biggest opener of the year, Kalank movie saw dismal performance in the weekend

After lacklustre performance in the opening weekend, Kalank saw big drop on weekdays. It collected around Rs. 3.25 Crore on 6th day and took its lifetime collection to Rs. 69.28 Crore. The movie is a big disappointments for audience as it failed to impress them which is clearly reflecting in the Box Office. However, Kalank is doing good business in the overseas market and took its worldwide collection to Rs. 116.75 Crore. Despite Kalank being the biggest opener of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, the movie is struggling at the box office. Will it be Varun Dhawan 1st flop movie? Considering huge budget of Rs. 150 Crore one can sense the outcome. With the release of Avengers Endgam, Kalak will drop further. It remains to be seen whether it crosses Rs. 100 Crore on not.

Why media keeps saying Varun had ''no flops'' until Kalank? October & Sui Dhaaga flopped. ðŸ˜•

They are not flop.

Sui Dhaaga:

Budget: 48 Crore and Collection: 79 Crore.

October:

Budget: 33 Crore and Collection: 39 Crore

Its not like the 100% amount goes back to the producers. A movie has to do certain number above its budget to recover money.

Dishoom was another flop which was given zabardasti ka average tag. It only made 10 cr more than its budget. Budget was 61 cr, but ww distributors share was approx 42-45 cr.

October/Sui Dhaaga were flops

Dishoom was not a clean hit, neither was SOTY

For some reason varun fans consider "average" films successful lol

If a film is not a HIT, Superhit or bLockbuster its NOT successful.

Completely agree and Varun fans here keep boasting about how Varun hasn't had a single flop in his career lol.Btw Kalank has already been officially declared a flop. It's estimated earnings are 75 crores (domestic).
