Not sure. Could be both. Or it could be that the Naag/Naagin's DNA are dormant in him. Just like when a person has brown eyes. That person can have traits of blue eyes DNA, but being the recessive side that person still have brown eyes sorta thing. So, Mahir's DNA if he is truly Sumi's son could be recessive. But, then again this is just a theory.

In season 2, Shivanya was worried that Shivangi might be born a Naagin and will turn to one. Therefore, she consulted with a baba who told her that if she wanted to ensure Shivangi will not turn to a Naagin. She had to marry Shivangi off to a human before her 25th birthday. That's why Shivanya was so hell bent on getting Shivangi married to a human before her 25th birthday. But then that plan failed since Shivanya was attacked and killed by Yamini and her people. Then Shivangi asked for a boon from Shivji to make her a Naagin. And Rocky got married to a Naagin not a human so maybe that's why he turned to a Naag instead.

It could be that the previous two seasons' rule might not apply in this season. It could also be just another bloopers by the CVs. However, during the pregnancy track Vish heard the rumor that Bella might be pregnant with Yuvi's child. She thought that that was true and confronted Bella about it. Yet, Vish was not surprised with Bella retaining her powers despite what she thought that Bella having had already consummated with Yuvi and was carrying his child.

So she was someone who would eventually become a Naagin? Why did she have to pray to be turned into one? Hadn't she prayed she wouldn't have become a Naagin then? 😲

Nobody was sure whether she would stay human or become a Naagin. She turned to Naagin before her 25th birthday. And Shivangi asked a boon from Shivaji to make her a Naagin because her mother and family members had just been killed. She wanted that powers so that she could avenge their deaths. Which was according to previous seasons 25th birthday marks the coming of age, activation of powers of an ichadari Naag/Naagin who were born from an ichadari Naagin or whatever. I am also not really sure of that part of the details. So basically sons and daughters of ichadari Naagin were born with their human's body without them having to do tapasya for 100 years before attaining human's body

And no, Rocky did not become a Naag because he was married to a Naagin. Rocky become a Naag because his mother was a takshak Vansh Naagin. Which was a mortal enemies in season 2 to the Sheshnaag vansh. What I meant to say was maybe because he married a Naagin, there was nothing stopping him turning into a Naag.

Mahir can have sixth sense or some naagmani related powers, but let him remain human. I have no trust on makers at all.

Koi guesses nahi hai mere paas, even if half the questions get answered i would be really happy. Lets just wait and pray that he isn't some naag (warna Bela ko dhoti stitch karni paregi🤣)
