Why did Sui Dhaga under-perform at the BO?

The movie struggled to hit even 80cr which deprived it of a clean hit tag everyone assumed it would get

what went wrong?

was the concept not entertaining enough? the execution was not upto the mark?

i personally liked the movie esp the chemistry between the leads..i thought it be a sure shot hit..so surprised with the outcome

thoughts?

the arrogance shown by a fangroup like he is biggest superstar when he is far away from it. he is gud for medium budget movies n can have all superhits bb verdicts with such medium budget movies . i m hearing since many years that he will get a big bb soon

it underperfomed because it was terrible😆

I saw the movie forced by friends. Really boring it was. Some people on the forum and yrf paid reviews claimed it was wonderful and the performances were oh so brilliant.

I guess my opinion was validated. Nothing against vd or anu...but both did pretty ordinary work here.

Hence it did not do that well. But i think its a hit. Budget was very low compared to star cast used.

I think for Multiplex movies to break-out of 100 crore mark is tough.

Given high prices they aren't always able to attract their audience and with multiple media available people wait for TV debut/amazon/netflix or watch a pirated copy.

I felt both Sui Dhaga and Manmarziyan were well made movies with good performances by the cast all around. There were plot inconsistencies etc but then thats a given for most Indian movies. I found them no better or worse than say a Razi or a Parmanu that I watched this year.

Either for these kind of movies the production budget needs to be really tight (and therefore maybe indie movies should refrain from casting mainstream A listers) or exhibitors need to rethink their ticket prices.

the main reason for casting A listers is to make these indie movies more universal

but if all is dependent on content at the end then why even cast them..why not an ayushman khuarana or a radhika apte then when eventually it is all boiling down to the content..

what is even there to celebrate about being an A lister then when eventually the results be the same even with an ayushman or a radhika and all is dependent on content..

today an adhadun is hitting 50..with no defined A listers..

may be makers need to realize this then and keep budgets crisp and content high
