She might have referred to married women in the film industry.
She comes from a family where women gave up their acting careers after marriage, to raise a family.
She and her sister Karishma started young and became top actresses in their own right...
where the men in the family were always known to lead the industry for decades.
To be in the film industry, getting married to the one you love...staying married!!...working while pregnant...being a working mum...and still being personally-professionally happy must be a big deal for them!!
Mentally, it would be very draining if she was just putting up a facade for the public eye.
But I think Saif makes her feel secure in their relationship too.
Maybe that's why she is so full of herself with glee...
she is cordial with her step-children.
(Think Sridevi...great actress, but insecure personally).
She has her own baggage to deal with and is still keeping positive.
We do not need to deal with step-children. Or with the ex-wife.
We do not need to be self-obsessed with size zero.
We do not need to look good ALL the time.
We do need to keep up with the changing trends.
Her life is draining, to say the least.
But she is coping in her own bubble.
It's the kind of stuff any woman would be proud of...
for not giving in or giving up...
especially when you are married to the film industry or have a sour mother-in-law like Jaya Bachchan!! (who gave up her illustrious career to raise her family).
People need to be given credit where they are due.
Regardless of being in the film industry or not, I believe women of this generation are a force to reckon with.
We are no longer spongy doormats!
We think differently from how our mothers and ancestors did.
Yes, we all struggle in our own way...without nannies...
but we dare not let anyone take that credit away from us either.
This, in turn, is a good role model for our kids - the importance of self-respect and self-determination comes from how we choose to be treated as women.
We are the coolest mums out there! Yay!!
