Bepannah ~My thoughts ~ep 81 9.7.18.The best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray
So Robert Burns wrote in his poem. It's about when things end poorly or contrary to expectations, despite all the hard work ,effort and preparation put in to ensure and guaranteed success. After watching this episode, I could not help but, reflect upon the outcome of Poosh's relationship. In awe I mused upon the saying that "man proposes and god disposes. For me,the fate of Pooja and Yash by many standards , broke shackles imposed upon them by their loveless marriages. Nuptial bonds that fell short due to an imbalance or lack of both friendship and love. Both deviated from their marriages superimposed upon them. Without a doubt once they had made their minds up, both stood assured, all set to lead a long happy life ahead , this time directed by their found true love. However the outcome of their unconventional actions turned out to be not quite what they had vouched for. They never lived to culminate their love in the real world, of which they were an integral part of, when they took the decisive turn in their lives.
Within me lay bitterness against Pooja and Yash and clear empathy for Zoya and Adi, their estranged and disaffected partners, whom Poosh wronged with their selfishness . Adi and Zoya I saw as two people with weaknesses, but also with one with the crucial strength of fidelity. A prerequisite in their respective marriages. All throughout the story the contrast builds up how Poosh achieved what they were after at the expense of Adi and Zoya whom they scarred emotionally. However in hindsight, upon seeing Pooja and Yash fate, in comparison to Adi and Zoya's. I see how Pooja and Yash, failed to enjoy their much fought after dreams of true love in the land of the living. In a big way, I have no hesitation in saying my faith stands restored in seeing justice prevailed and virtue exemplified eventually. For the truth is the much wounded Aditya and Zoya still live on to learn from their mistakes and move on towards what destiny holds for them.
"To err is human and to forgive is divine. Much sensationalism, breaking news! Regards the on going scandalous affair and death of Pooja and Yash still hypes on as Aditya comes out of the courts of law. Many presumptions and suppositions are held by reporters that Aditya Hooda Adi the wronged husband would give them a meaty story which would increase channel ratings! But with Aditya Hooda, he sets his own ground rules, rather than going by what others set out for him to do.
Today he faced the law court of the world. He knew he was up against the vicious ways of the world where every day public opinion, becomes both and judge and jury. Condemns and exonerate who so ever according to the standards set by tradition, creed and social norms. Adi knew today it was not about defending himself. For by now he knew he could never hide from himself. For he himself is now his severest critic in this present mess. Today its about defending his best friend's honour before the world, which condemned his best friend from choosing her way of life. Morally he raises himself to be more than he could ever be! Learns from his follies..
So, what Adi does before the press comes as no surprise, from a new staid, disciplined and calm Aditya. Before the world, he derides, belittles himself, all to exonerate the slur smeared on Pooja and Yash's EMA as exposed to the world. Such power of grace and forgiveness he is filled with, that his own public confessional statement renders him not less than a god. Because what he went through with Pooja's betrayal was a trauma any man would find difficult to come to terms with.Yet Aditya in the climate of Pooja's much ill-reputed image takes it upon himself like a true friend to protect the honour of his best friend cum wife, Pooja.
All could see, it was no easy task for Adi to sacrifice the right to begrudge Pooja for life! on accountof betraying him. Instead Aditya Hooda gives up his prerogative to be bitter towards Pooja and boils it down before all to his own lack of understanding his best friend cum wife's needs.
His choice of words and thoughts before the world, promotes the path of forgiveness upon which he embarks. This new path he undertakes, actually does both him and Zoya a favour. It will make it easier for him, in the long run to let go of residual bitterness, to grant himself the freedom to move on in life. Sakshi had said to him, it was wrong for him to hold Pooja responsible for their marriage breakup. He was as much responsible as Pooja was.The manner in which he confesses his weaknesses publicly, goes to show his nobility and sense of honour for a woman whom he loved as a friend. Certainly he makes an atonement for all the wrongs he unknowingly did to Pooja. The big one being, his inability able to read the melancholic language relayed by her eyes, thus misunderstanding Pooja more than many ways than one.
Rather skilfully he deals with the question of being seen to be supporting his wife's EMA. Adi narrates reality that his wife never found love in his friendship and he was now happy that his best friend was able to find true love with the man she was found dead with. Adi does chide the reporters for falling prey to the vice of passing judgements on two peoples relationships, without the fear that who so ever judges others leave them selves open to judgement and condemnation as well.
In a way the more he purges his weaknesses on a public forum, the closer he gets to his much deserved healing. Clearly it was better to forgive and to forget, rather then burn in the everlasting fire of sweet revenge!
Once over this public confession and washing away the defamation against Pooja and Yash both. Adi seems on a roll. He is seen to be in a hurry to do the needful that would wash away his existing guilt, of being equally responsible for breaking his marriage and for driving Pooja to do what she did. He still continues to carry emotional baggage. To relieve it he decides to settle Sakshi back in Hooda house as his maa in law.. in fond memory of Pooja. Foster son and mother embrace and once again Adi forgives and receives forgiveness in return.
Adi's confessional statement is well received by three families plus Sakshi..Adi's return home with Sakshi is a positive action, whereby he reverses his negative action of throwing her out of the house. Adi was aware that Sakshi's return plus his audacity to overrule all that his father fought for in this Yash Pooja case, would cause his parents much angst and sorrow. Again he comes clean with his parents, tells it as it with him. asks for forgiveness and once again is received back with blessings from his parents, despite being the black sheep of the family. Sakshi heart swells with pride as she watches from far ,how Adi irons out his wrinkled relationships with his parents. Seems to Sakshi that her daughters death is not seen as a wasted effort. Where Pooja could never contribute to alleviating the tension Adi had with his parents. Pooja's death seems to have done it.
Its noteworthy that Adi gives due credence to his parents, as firstly he informs his parents of giving Pooja the fond farewell that she much deserved as his best friend. The idea of giving a farewell to their partners was a therapeutic process that Zoya suggested to him. But at that point in time Adi was clearly not ready. Things had to lead up to this crucial turning point of his life.
Zoya loves to accredit Adi for his efforts. In this one he certainly overcame his grievances and went ahead and did what she battled for all along. Clearing Yash of defamation charges. Mind you Waseem's eyes are trying to gauge out the significance Adi makes to his Zoya? so when Madhu praises Zoya for her efforts in clearing their family name, and quips by the sounds of it seems she had a hand in what Adi did. Waseem's is on the alert! All the more when Adi shows up asking to see Zoya in private.. as a father he will figure out later that Zoya not going back to Missouri may have something to do with Adi keeping her back! Ahhh..fathers and daughters.
Pooja's ring kept captive more than one, within its circumference. For Adi it was hanging on to the bruise that his best friend cheated on him. Of recent he stayed captive by it because he preferred not to break the heart of another friend he made recently . Zoya! . Zoya, hungs on to the belief, Yash got it made for her but it kept falling off her finger. Zoya was not ready to read the signs of the time that it was not meant to fit her finger! Its no coincidence that Adi saw Pooja's name inscribed it in and it become proof enough of Pooja s secret affair and that to with Zoya's husband. Under most unusual circumstances the strange ring kept the four of them under its spell! Now its crystal clear that the ring was only meant to fit Pooja's finger.. she was the perfect match for Yash. Zoya was the incongruous partner , just like Adi was! Still the ring also fits together two rejects from nowhere! Whose grief seems to fit so well within each others sorrow!
Peace at last. Far from the maddening crowd of blames, betrayals, regrets and of so many tears. Adi and Zoya rest on the bench side by side. The vast water body. The much needed silence to pay the final requiem to their memories of the way things were.. makes them gather their thoughts. Even though, they come together, according to their own free will. Still its consoling for Adi especially, to find a new companion by his side who finds the process as challenging like he does. The vast river, offers them both the chance to immerse their pasts to a watery grave. Being by the bank gives both Aditya and Zoya the hope that for them life and hope continues to make what they can out of their lives.
The manner in which Aditya takes the Pooja Yash photo and Zoya places the ring atop of it ,is a surreal way of marrying the lovers Pooja and Yash. Instead of the holy fire .The cool waters immersion signifies the ablution of two souls in eternity. Two souls that found love, and only death could part them from the material world. But they re-join in spirit. The credit goes to two virtuous souls Aditya and Zoya whose sacred fire of forgiveness grants eternal peace to two troubled souls.
Adi bids a befitting farewell to his best friend.. and then soon enough is ready to start life anew on his terms. Parting from Pooja shows Zoya, that Adi continues to feel poignantly the gap of a dear friend namely Pooja . For him to heal completely he will require his own pace and time. But as a friend she gives him therapeutic tips of mind mapping.. allowing memories to come to him, rather than fighting them off! Time is a great healer.. she acknowledges that the scar will remain.. but he will get better in dealing with the loss of a best friend!
The way they both laugh, chat, empower, pull each others leg at the banks of the river. Marks the beginning of entirely new characters. There is almost a hint of flirtation in their giggles and chuckles! Zoya Siddique and Captain Aditya Hooda met for the first time.. shows that Adi will go back to flying , and Zoya will manage Zosh to build upon her new found identity of being not just a pretty face!
To farther bring credibility to their forthcoming relationship. It was significant to see them walking away with their backs to each other. Both give each other the chance to look back and linger in the hope that which one stops the other from departing from each others life? but they leave it once more to providence to guide their footsteps. After all it was fate that brought them together this far..best to leave it to destiny.. until the heart to is ready to seek one more time. Love that gives purpose to one's life.. till then perseverance , for fools rush in where angels too fear to tread.. hamlet53 10. 7.18
Once more Harshad and Jennifer stole the show as Adi and Zoya. they both never disappoint to us. So Pooja and Yash track comes to a befitting track..daresay their death still remains a mystery.
