Dia Mirza in En Swasa Kaatre
Dia was one of those backup dancers who are sidelined after the first two seconds in this song from the Tamil film En Swasa Kaatre. The song, "Jumabalika Jumbalika" later got dubbed into its hit Hindi version and got featured in Thakshak. This was a couple of years before she made her Bollywood debut with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein in 2001.
Saif Ali, Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan in Pehla Nasha
No, we don't mean the hit song featuring Aamir and Aisha Jhulka from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Pehla Nashawas a 1993 film, and Ashutosh Gowariker's directorial debut, starring Deepak Tijori, Raveena Tandon, and Pooja Bhatt. Shah Rukh, Saif, and Aamir had cameo roles in a brief portion of the film, along with Rahul Roy and Sudesh Berry. They all played themselves, and were seen making bad puns about their own hit films.
Zoya Akhtar in Kama Sutra - A Tale Of Love
Zoya made her acting debut in celebrated filmmaker Mira Nair's Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love. She was one of the disciples of Rasa Devi, a role portrayed by Rekha. Zoya was all of 25 then, and still more than a decade away from making her directorial debut in Bollywood.
Reena Dutta in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak
Reena Dutta, then married to Aamir Khan, featured in the song the song "Papa Kehte Hain" in a blink-and-it-never-even-happened shot.
Yash Chopra and Pamela Chopra in Dil To Pagal Hai
Among the very many songs that this film had, which made its runtime hit an astounding 3 hours, director Yash Chopra and his wife Pamela Chopra starred in the song "Ek Duje K Vaaste".
Nikhil Advani and Farah Khan in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
The fact that Farah Khan and Nikhil Advani were friends with Karan Johar way before either of them became directors themselves is well known. They were seen briefly on the fictional reality show, The Neelam Show, a show young Anjali was crazy about.
Shahid Kapoor in Taal and Dil To Pagal Hai
Everyone knows about his Taalcameo, but not many know this that he was in Dil To Pagal Hai as well. Shahid Kapoor started his career in odd music videos and as a backup dancer. He was, after all, one of Shiamik Davar's best students.
Anushka Sharma in Munna Bhai MBBS
Okay, she was not actually in the film per se. She was merely there on a billboard, and she doesn't even have any credit for the "role".
Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Munna Bhai MBBS, Shool, Jungle and Sarfarosh
Before making a breakthrough in 2007, in Anurag Kashyap's Black Friday and landing a lead role in Prashant Bhargava's Patang, Siddiqui was mostly seen in various cameo appearances here and there. If you say you noticed him in all those films before you watched Gangs of Wassepur, then you are either a genuine film nerd or a liar.
Ayan Mukerji in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna
He was spotted in the "Tumhi Dekho Na" in the Karan Johar film wearing a questionably green costume. He was probably assisting Johar at that point of time before wearing the director's hat for himself
Geeta Kapoor in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
You may know choreographer Geeta Kapoor as the judge of reality show Dance India Dance, but there was a time when she was also slogging it out behind the scenes, mostly. She appeared at the beginning of the song "Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Ayi" in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where she was assisting Farah Khan, who did the choreography for the film.
Imtiaz Ali in Black Friday
It wasn't just Nawazuddin, popular director Imtiaz Ali also had a brief role in the Anurag Kasyap film. Ali portrayed the role of real life suspect of the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Bombay, Yakub Memon in the film.
Avantika Khan in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu
Remember shaking a leg to the Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu track "Aunty Ji, Get Up And Dance" a few years ago? Imran Khan's wife, Avantika Khan, had a really brief cameo in that song!
Kiran Rao in Dil Chahta Hai
Way before her Dhobi Ghat days, Kiran Rao made an appearance in the 2001 Farhan Akhtar film Dil Chahta Hai. Some speculate that is around when Rao and Aamir Khan hit it off with each other.
Karan Johar and Farah Khan in Kal Ho Na Ho
We are pretty sure they were short of extras when they decided to just sit in one of the tables to fill space. This is, again, one of the more well-known cameos made in Bollywood films.
Anaita Shroff Adajania, Karan Johar, and Uday Chopra in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge
Pretty much all of us knew that Karan Johar played one of SRK's besties in the first half of the film. What many don't know is that the Vogue India Fashion Director, who was just a budding stylist at the time, played one of Kajol's besties. What is an even bigger bummer is most people don't know that Uday Chopra had a cameo, where he cycles past Kajol in one of the scenes.
Jatin-Lalit in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar
The famous duo, who created some of our favourite 90s melodies, got nominated for a Filmfare Award for their music in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. They even had a cameo appearance in the music competition sequence!
Arjun Kapoor in Neerja
Anushka Sharma is not the only one who has appeared in a film in the form of a picture. Arjun Kapoor's childhood photo was seen in the family album that Neerja's mother was seen browsing through.
