Breaking: Sidharth Malhotra's Aiyaary postponed once again, film to now release on February 16

In a new development, the makers of Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee's upcoming spy-thriller Aiyaary have once again deferred the release date of the film, finally settling on February 16 as its opening day. Aiyaary was initially slated to release on January 25, but fearing the box-office congestion created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat and Akshay Kumar's PadMan (then scheduled for the same date), director Neeraj Pandey had pushed the release date of Aiyaary to February 9.
However, troubles seemed not to end for team Aiyaary when Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali entered a truce and PadMan was shifted to February 9 as well.
Since then, the makers of Aiyaary (including lead actor Sidharth Malhotra) have maintained that the film won't be postponed any further. Also Read: No delay for Aiyaary, Sidharth Malhotra says it will release on time
However, recent run-ins with the Defense Ministry at the CBFC had raised speculations about the timely release of the film.
And now, according to trade analyst and industry expert Taran Adarsh, Aiyaary has finally been shifted to February 16, thus averting another clash with PadMan.
Directed by R Balki, PadMan stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor. The film has been produced by Twinkle Khanna under her banner Mrs. Funnybones Movies.
Set against the backdrop of the Indian Army, Aiyaary is directed by Neeraj Pandey and stars Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, Rakul Preet Singh, Pooja Chopra, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher in important roles.
