I agree with you. They could have developed their love story so at least ppl could have relate. It was not even padmavat, it seemed like khilji saga. I wanted a good love story b/w king & queen so that when khilji attacks and padma perform jauhar, I could at least cry. Though I love the part when Ratan was going for a war and shared a few moments with padma.
