I agree... It'd be the best deal of their lives.
But an after thought, had Danyal been alive, how beautiful it would have looked to see Zubiya and Gaiti as Devrani-Jethani.
Sigh! But the truth is, Danyal's death is the crucial turn into Asfi Zubiya meeting... Coz had that not happened, neither Faryal would have broken their engagement, nor they would have shifted to Neelum Valley.
Asfi would have been living a compromising life with a Bigdail Faryal, and everyone would have pretended to be a happy family...
genuine happiness will come with Zubiya only...

PART-2 Confrontation

 

Zubiya went back to the hospital, but dared not go to Asfi's cabin... It was very awkward for her to talk to him about looking forward in their lives together. Not like she had already decided... She needed to talk about her past first, but it was all such a mess... And she can't tread alone in that mess to go to Asfi. How she wished, he had come on his own. "Hunh! she released her tired breath. "Why would he come to me, after I had with such grace and poise rejected him, or for that matter, anyone." She taunted herself. "But, baat toh karni padegi hi... Gaiti se promise kiya tha..." she kept on shaking her leg in anxiety. And then suddenly stood up, and walked to his cabin.

Crashing open the door of his cabin, she looked breathlessly at him... He looked a little taken aback at the sudden open of the door with such violence. A moment longer did she stood there panting her heavy breath, bubbling with the instinct to talk whatever it was; but then suddenly lost the battle, and left the cabin, feeling stupid about herself.

Steadily walking to the deserted cafeteria, she made herself a cup of caffeine to sate down her anxiety, and plopped down on the chair, kept on stirring the cup, but still didn't take a sip... Time and again, her past and her present were clashing in her head, making her feel miserable.

A chair was pulled in front of her on the table, and sat with utmost patience the man, who was the key to unlock all her misery and as well who knew how to comfort her as well. Asfi sat before her, trying to look into her bowed face, trying his best to penetrate into the thick air of tension and worry that she had clouded all around herself. But he decided against it, and took a different route to talk to her.

"Tumhe pata hai, Dr. Haroon ki family aayi thi aaj rishta leke. Maama-Baba bohot khush hain... In fact Maama ka call aaya tha, unhone kaha ki Bhabhi ne kuch waqt maanga hai sochne ke liye... Shukr hai Allah ka, ki bhabhi thoda sa hi sahi, apne rigid form se hili toh sahi. Warna tum toh jaanti ho, wo kahan maanti thi kabhi. So, thanks to you, wo maan gayin." Asfi gave her a small smile.

Zubiya looked awkwardly at him, at being given the credit- "Meri wajah se?

"Ab ye mat kehna ki tumne Bhabhi ko convince nahi kiya iss baare mein sochne ke liye. Kyuki ye baat tum bhi jaanti ho, aur main bhi ke, Bhabhi kayi maamlon mein tumhare alaava aur kisi ki baat nahi sunti." Asfi gave her an obvious look.

Zubiya gave an awkward laugh, but she couldn't really smile. Her face was turning red, she felt like crying. She couldn't tell him the cost of convincing Gaiti. Though, she wasn't crying because Gaiti in return had convinced her to talk to him, but because she knew that he knew that the moment was this, when she had no choice but to talk to him directly, without any farce or pretence.

"Aap sab Peshawar gaye they?" she asked.

"Haan." He gave a true, quick and crisp answer, without trying to pretend or extend anything.

"Aapne meri khala se mere past ke baare mein poocha?" she asked in an emotionless manner, though her heart cried, on her walls breaking.

"Nahi. Maine unse sirf ye poocha tha, ki aakhir baat kya hai, jo tum shaadi ke liye raazi hi nahi hoti... Look, main ye baat bohot ache se jaanta hoon, ki tum mujhe mohabbat ke ehsaasaat dila ke mujhe ditch karne walo mein se ho nahi. Toh baat kuch aur hai, jo tum mujhe bata nahi rahi thi..." Asfi spoke his mind out.

"Cheezein utni bhi aasaan nahi hoti hain Dr. Asfandyar. Mohabbat bohot keemti cheez hai, aur bohot keemat chukaani padti hai mohabbat mein. Aur mujhe toh mohabbat ke saudagaron ne toh aaj tak thaga hi hai." Her voice was breaking with the cries that she was trying to suppress.

"Zubiya, mujhe jab tak tumhari khala ne Karachi ke apartment wala incident nahi sunaaya, mujhe tab tak iss baat ka ehsaas hua hi nahi, ki tumhara-mera raabta sirf Neelum Valley ka nahi, balki Karachi se bhi hai." He shared his astonishment.

"Aap mere muhaafiz(protector) banke aaye they uss din. Agar uss din aapne mujhe wo tahaffuz nahi diya hota, toh jaane kya hota... Wo Rameez..." Zubiya felt suffocated.

"Achha theek hai Zubiya, ab uss baare mein mat socho. The bottom line is, main wahan aa gaya tha, kuch nahi hua tha. Aur shayad, Allah humare raaste shuru se milaana chaahte they..." he comforted her.

She looked disbelievingly at him- "Aapko samajh aa raha hai, main uss din apne ghar se bhaag ke aayi thi, Rameez se nikaah karne ke liye... Uske baad se jo maine ruswaaiyaan dekhi, Allah maaf kar deta hai par insaano ne nahi kiya..."

"Zubiya, ghalti kisse nahi hoti? Aur main tumhe ruswa nahi kar raha, aur na aisa kabhi karoonga... Tum aakhir khud ko kis baat ki saza de rahi ho?" he asked incredulously.

"Mere kirdaar par pehle hi bohot cheete(splashes) udd chuke hain... Mere apne bhai Bhabhi ne mere saath kya kiya... Aapne mujhe aaj tak bohot izzat nawaazi hai. Main isse zyada aapse kuch expect nahi karti. Main aapko deserve nahi karti." Zubiya began to get up...

"Thehro zubiya!" he held on to her wrist, fastening her back to her seat. "Ye main decide karunga ki kaun mujhe deserve karta hai aur kaun nahi. Aur main ye baat bohot achhi tarah se samajhta hoon ki tumse behtar life partner nahi mil sakta. Main bohot mohabbat karta hoon tumse Zubiya." He expressed his vulnerable side once again.

"Mohabbat... Shaadi... Mujhe darr lagta hai inn naamo se... Mard zaat ne inn sab alfaazo se mere dil mein khauf paida kar diya hai... Abbi ne ammi ki kya haalat ki shaadi karke... Bhai ki mohabbat bhi dekh li, aur Rameez ka mohabbat ke naam pe dhokha bhi dekh liya, nikaah kare ke naam pe... Mujhe chaahke bhi inpe yaqeen nahi ho pata." Zubiya spoke her fears for the first time.

"Zubiya, na main tumhare abbi hoon, na Rehan Bhai aur na Rameez. Mere ghar mein na mardon ne aurton pe haath uthaaya hai, na meri tarbiyat(upbringing) waisi hai. Trust is something that runs in my blood. Mera bhai bhi trust karke hi mara... Toh samajh hi lo, ki main kyu tumhare har alfaaz har baat par main yaqeen karunga... Ghar se nikaal dena, meri rivaayat nahi... Aur rahi baat nikaah ki, toh wo toh main tumse karke hi rahunga Zubiya, bas ye ek baar keh do, ki tum bhi yahi chaahti ho... Main tumhare saath zabardasti nahi karna chaahta..." his passionate eyes were speaking volumes...

She kept looking at him, blinking away her tears... She couldn't speak up a word...

"Bolo Zubiya... Kya tumhe nikaah qubool hai mujhse..." he asked again.

"Agar aapne bhi last minute mujhe chodh diya toh?" she asked.

"Nikaah karogi?" he asked.

"Aap dhokha toh nahi denge...?"

"Tum aaj kaho, aaj nikaah kar lunga tumhare aur mere ghar walo ke saamne... Aur uske baad, ye nikaah tab tak nahi tootega, jab tak hum mein se kisi ek ki saansein na toot jaayein... Ab bolo." He asked with rising intensity...

She slightly nodded her head, gulping down her lump... Her "Ji" was so mild that it was ear straining even for Asfi to know... But he knew... She was yet again taking a leap of faith. Just that this time she has nobody to beat her into a pulp even if he leaves her midway. But her gut feeling said that she was binding herself into a relationship, for life... Forever.

She kept looking at Asfi, who had already dialled to his baba... "Baba, mere nikaah ki taiyyari karein jald se jald, Zubiya ke saath. Maama se kahein ki Zubiya ki khaala ko bulwaayein Peshawar se... Aaj hi... Ji baba!"

Zubiya was amazedly looking at the pace with which he was working... She never knew her life this day will move at such 180 degrees.

"Advance mein Nikaah Mubarak ho Zubiya!"

"Aapko bhi..." she finally gave a little smile.

kya speed h ...idhar zubiya ne haan kaha udhar nikaah ki prep shyru vo bhi aaj hi .. 😆
i have not watched d show till now ..but it seems to b so real ...no melodrama nth ...direct on talk ...n aapka os bhi bilkul waisa hi h ...no beating arounx d bush ...loved it ...❤️
