I don't think they [Divya and Raveena] would be vying for the same kind of roles.
Even Madhuri was big star at that time but if Divya kept doing well, then she would probably take Madhuri's place because by looking at Divya's filmography, it looks like she would be the next Sridevi, her movies in BW were only released in 1992-1993 and within 2 years, she had 13 movies released during that time and most of them were hit and superhit which was incredible

This is not true. Only Deewana and Shola Aur Shabnam were hits. The rest were either flops or average. But she was appreciated highly in films like Dil Ka Kya Kasoor and Dil Aashna Hai. As well as becoming a super star with Saat Samundar - but those films were not hits.Even Sridevi barely had 2 or 3 hits in the entire 90s decade. She has the poorest hit:flop ratio. 😉

You guys, I just came across a 1999 interview by director Raj Kanwar where he reveals he offered his debut film "Deewana" first to Madhuri Dixit, who couldn't make it due to dates, so he offered it to Divya Bharti.
Ain't that a revelation!http://m.rediff.com/movies/1999/feb/08raj.htm

Vishwatma was declared a Hit at the Box Office. Rajiv Rai had many successful films apart from his last two movies. He was very fond of Divya who was orginally part of Mohra. She filmed that movie for 4-5 days.
