like in the 90's average looking guys become hero like ajay davgan , sunil sheety yet they were big names in the industry back in days even shahrukh khan was average looking guy when he started out few of his co stars like juhi chawla used to say yeh kala bhi hero ban gaya hai. now with more glamour i guess average looking guys can not sustain their stardom like adtiya roy kapoor lead of aashique 2

Of course they can regardless of if they have the charm or not. Ajay Devgan is a perfect example but it took years of hard work to get to where he is. It started with Phool Aur Kaante followed by other Action movies. Then he went on to do other genres like Zakhm & The Legend of Bhagat Singh were his performances was appreciated as well as Company & Deewangee.

It's all about talent and audience accepting the person. Ajay & SRK fit into that category. Sunil made through because he was doing macho type characters which were very common during those times.

I feel like heroes in the 80s were far uglier. 90s were alright.
2000 we had good looking guys! Hrithik, Shahid etc

And now we're back to ugly guys again (new ones being launched) 😭

Let's see how far Aadar goes... he's very average too...

Manoj Bajpai is another person as well although he started off in small roles in the 90s but audience took notice of him when Satya came out. His performance in Shool was very much appreicated. Ghaath as well is another good film of his although it did Average at the BO.

I'm not fan of new genreation maybe I have more a soft corner for 90s actors. Most of my favourites e.g. Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Sunil Shetty & Govinda don't appear often. So I only have Ajay Devgan & Akki now to support and Salman & Aamir, I guess.

Who is good looking amongst the current crop? No one! Varun is not good looking at all. Tiger Shroff is just weird looking. Sid Mal is better looking of the lot. So is Aditya Roy Kapoor and you are calling him average looking. 😆 He is so much better than the current lot. Arjun Kapoor is plain ugly. Ranbir Kapoor looks good. Ranveer Singh has this special charm about him. Not traditionally good looking but has a good screen presence. Who else? Ayushman Khurana...so veryyy plain. We need good looking guys ASAP!! 😕

Technically no. Movie stars, traditionally, have been telegenic all over the world in any industry. However BW has always appreciated charm over looks when it came to men. So yeah the answer is yes given a lot of other qualities meet demands.
