Knowing this truth...

Chandani has no motivation to accept his proposal...the only way she will agree is if mama dear asks her to do so...So, may be that's where Advay will make his final move...some how force mama dear's hand into making this happen...😃

So where does the haath chhodne ke liye nahi pakda hai play in?

That was a threat too? I am never letting you go- is a threat and not a promise?😲
I didn't see that as a romantic dialogue anyway...saw it only as his attempt at wooing her along with the stars and moon...

I mean...what was the intention of all that then?šŸ˜•
If you are saying he is not hiding his intentions, why is he even trying to get her the moon and stars?
Why fake all that?
Am I the only one feeling confused about this?šŸ˜†

OK. I will try to put this together for my sake.

Advaiy wants revenge. First, he tries to stop the family from getting the treasure, openly challenging Chandni. Then he decides he needs Chandni as his gateway to the family, so he starts wooing her. Then, PP comes in. He tries to convince her PP is an idiot, but she stubbornly decides to ignore him. He continues with the challenges of doing each rasm with her, still not losing his charm. And now he has lost it, because he has exposed the aunt- uncle infidelity and caused enough badnaami...so he tells her this is not a game, and he hates her family and her with a passion...

OK. Waiting for his next move. This must mean he has given up the idea of marrying her, and ...let us see what brings about the marriage.

Or..this was just an outburst and he will be back with the wed Chandni plan.

I am telling you, it is very confusing for a normal viewer. I am just holding on because Sobti is brilliant.

Chick...I think you are definitely more confused about this than I feel about this right now...šŸ˜†
Did you watch the episodes of Ady conversing with his Nani...and also when he explained to her how he feels about her...Tum jo bhi ho Chandani...meri ho...?

Ok...so ...the question is how does our Bituwa feel about Chandani,,,..does he mean it when he says...I have not taken your hand to leave it? I think the answer is an emphatic YES! He means it totally...What he feels about Chandani is a deep hurt that has been brought upon him by her betrayal...this is different than what he feels about the rest of the mahant family (the elder generation any way) ...which is pure revenge...About Chnadani though...even though he is deeply hurt and upset...he still considers her as his own...

I think they need to have more conversations with Nani to make sure the message is getting to a casual viewer...

Yes, Sush I can understand that. Even when he has only faked it in his head, his heart has gone out to her. I do get that.

So, why is it that the shatir dimag Professor decides to suddenly vent out and scare her like that?
Or...that was just Advaiy..showing the extent of his hatred and hurt...and Chandni seeing it for real.

Then, that was a real turning point in the story. I guess they have highlighted it and I have missed it.

Would have looked great with a monologue from Chandni there, on what lay behind all that hurt that seemed to be devouring this guy.

May be they will have that first step towards her understanding him, later.

I was the one to start it, so if someone gets offended, pheel pheree to blame me šŸ˜†, but from what I have seen, sush's posts posts one of the sanest places in the forum šŸ˜›

I do have a justification for what I said about PRATHAM, but I don't want Sush's post to get a guest appearance from the mod.. Kabhi milo PRATHAM forum pe šŸ˜›

I am pretty positive that Advay's outburst on Friday was definitely not because he had exposed paheli maasi, because that's really his first baby step towards breaking them. Him meeting Nani brought in all the memories that he had pushed to a corner for the last few days, for he was busy manaooing Chandni and unknowingly softening towards her. His pain in the feet and Nani's entry disturbed the otherwise controlled bitwa.

Had Chandni's character got frequent monologues, it would have been easy to understand what she thinks of bitwa, but considering her scene with Mama did not move me even a bit, I am not sure how much I would enjoy such scenes of hers šŸ˜• One thing I have observed is, Chandni, because she had such great bonding with Dev, has the ease with Advay as well. Ofcourse she is not aware of the connection, but how else can one justify how she is comfy around him and not other men? This is where excellent writing would have made a difference. The conflict of hating the stranger stalking her, yet the unexplained attraction towards the same man... Had those nuances better explored and explained, I would have written about both Advay and Chandni with the same affection.

And no, you are not the only one to be confused about this. A lot of my friends have pretty much the same Qs. Gautham and Ved Raj lived the characters. Harneet is too inexperienced to understand the layers of a character like Advay.
To be fair, I have watched PRATHAM 6 or 7 times, and everytime I have skipped the episodes till the end of office track. Papak ka tukda with dii was when I got hooked to the show, as far as I remember.
Then GH did not even have the baggage of a previous season, but Harneet does. I don't know if you know this, but, everyday she is bombarded with comparison gifs of 2 shows to prove how she copies scenes from PRATHAM, so for a person with her experience it's a lot of pressure to prove a point. Every person related to this show have had a terrible experience with the fandom and it's really been a challenge for them to grow a thick skin and come to their own, especially Shivani and Harneet. But that doesnt mean they can throw anything at us and we will accept it 🤢

I think I will stop thinking about the reasons now. After cribbing non-stop for 3 weeks, I am finally in a place where I am not getting bored, absolutely loving some scenes and enjoying the intensity. I have convinced myself that raita phel gaya hain and the makers need time to clean it up, so unless I get super bored or have too many What The moments, I will continue to watch it, for I have waited for 5 years to watch this man act !

One last thing... I really appreciate you being so open about your thoughts and not being over diplomatic. What's the fun of being in a forum if everybody ends up agreeing or not agreeing to each other. This was a really good discussion and hope to have many more in the future šŸ¤—. My fondest memories of PRATHAM have been the team ASR vs team Happy posts 😃

In bold...
I couldn't agree more...Chandani's scenes with mama Ji...did help understand her feelings about Dev...but have not moved the needle yet about Advay...I find mamaji to be a weird sort of character...I mean ...are they trying to show he is gay or something In a round about way? šŸ˜”

Any who ...about Chandani...for me her feelings towards Advay could have been explanined better and given more of a chance on screenplay instead of jumping to ...look how good a chemistry the lead pair has right from the get go...because Bitiya is nodding her head yes...when a stranger comes to her bedroom...and demands her to let him pick her up after drugging her sisters...that episode was worst of all in not understanding Chandani's character...[here is an example of why I think IPK3 is at a disadvantage due to very high scrutiny from fans compared to a normal run of the mill show...where there is not so much internet feedback and expectations on chemistry and stuff like that...right from the first scene...I think without the pressure...writers have more breathing room to let things develop in the due course and not be bashed...)

While GH was also not perfect and had lapses in explaining happy's character at times...I think Harneet falls very short of expectations in this and a number of other fronts...The characters are dealing with complicated feelings...brushing off certain issues...or being inconsistent throws people off...The person who conceptulized Advay's scene with Nani...did the most satisfactory job of all the writing so far in my opinion...it brought it all together...along with the scree where Advay explained to Chandani...Tum Jo bhi ho Chandani...meri ho...I am not letting you go...

What does make sense for me ...from Chandani's side is...
That she is unsure of Bituwa and is resisting him...
That she is giving him the benefit of the doubt and trying to reason out with him...
That at times she is attracted to him...specially when he is being charming and not threatening...
That she is pushing the feelings of attraction aside and doing what her mom tells her...
That she is essentially not a person who rejoices after hurting the other person (I think she expected Advay to not carry out the ritual after realizing that the are nails on the pathway)

The Haldi scene was fantastic...LOVED the interaction between the leads there...and the symbolism...

@blue: I return the sentiments.šŸ¤—

And yes, this thread is the sanest place in the forum.šŸ˜†

Pratham- I started taking it seriously when the terrace MU happened. First time ever, I sat up and started taking note...though people were pushing it at me constantly.šŸ˜† I started watching it almost regularly with the courtship phase...went back and watched the first episodes later...GH and that guy Hitesh Kevalyaā¤ļø- his dialogues for mami was what made me google pratham-landed here much later.😳

😲- for what you said about what Harneet is getting. Poor thing. It is much too much bullying, especially since she really can't come close to GH...Shivani- yes, I get why fans get so defensive about her, considering what she is going through.

Reasons for watching this despite the flaws- same as you.😳

When IPK- 1 ended, I remember thinking it would take 5 years for him to come back to television. And he has. And this time around, I am more impressed, since he is the only thing to look forward to, most of the times.

Sorry for fangurling here, Sush.šŸ˜†
