Amish Tripathi's bestseller, Immortals of
Meluha, for Shuddhi which was supposed to
be inspired by the book. Now, the latest we
hear is that KJo had to surrender the rights
after his production house was unable to
make the film in time.
Well, the buzz is that apparently, Sanjay Leela
Bhansali is keen on adapting the book into a
film. A leading daily quoted a source saying
that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has now shown
interest in turning the book into a film.
This Amish Tripathi's novel is set in the
mystical land of Meluha traces the journey of
Shiva. As the myth suggests, the Meluhans
believe Shiva is Neelkanth, their saviour.
While the Melhuans battle it out with
Chandravanshis and Nagas, Shiva begins his
search to find his real self.
The leading daily quoted a source close to
Amish Tripathi saying, "His [Amish] contract
with Karan expired recently, so Dharma had
to surrender the rights to the book.
Currently, SLB is busy with Padmavati which
is scheduled to release this November. The
movie stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer
Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles.
The movie has already run into several
troubles with Karni Sena members
vandalizing the sets twice- first in Jaipur and
later in Kolhapur. The said vigilante group
accused the filmmaker of distorting the
facts. However, the makers later through a
statement clarified their stand.
