I love what Baradwaj Rangan says here about Amarendra-Devasena:

It's about Amarendra and Devasena fighting in perfect sync, as though performing a mating dance. He teaches her how to shoot three arrows simultaneously from her bow. In most masala movies, the only thing the hero would teach the heroine is a lesson.

Amarendra had sensed danger and he realised that the first person he needed to contact was the Princess, because of her temperament.
He had been staying in the Kunthala kingdom for some days now, and he knew well that they were not that strong in terms of military power, neither did they have a vast troop.

Of course, he would have been worried about Devsena at some level, his heart belonged to her. But yes, he knew that in the skirmish, she would be an equal partner.

Devasena has fallen for the warrior without knowing that he is a King-to-be😳.. And it's not the King or kingdom that she wanted.. She came for her love for life.. And she must have been one proud woman on knowing the people's love for Amarendra ❤️. The interval scene was something to cherish about her husband-to-be..
If only Sivagami wasn't taken over by her guilt for her son .. for choosing the right over wrong.

I think one of the things I LOVE about this movie is how steadfast Amarendra was.

He made a promise to Devasena and he kept by it.

In a way Devasena embodied the path of righteousness, while Sivagami displayed bad judgement, though she was an equally righteous woman.

Amarendra had no qualms in following the path delineated by his wife. He instinctively sensed that she was right and Sivagami was in the wrong.

Of course, the sense of justice, righteousness and fair play was ingrained in him- he was himself a dutiful and just person, because he had imbibed his mother's teachings about following the path of dharma- but KUDOS to him for according his wife the freedom to speak her own mind and for cherishing her for her individuality.

All I will say is that even husbands/sons of today can learn a lot from Amarendra.😳👏

Sorry guys I fell asleep cos was too tired. But as usual discussions on DS are never dying 😆 Anyways I wanted to mention this. I was hearing Dandalyaa a few mins ago and I started crying. I'm not the kind to cry over cinema. But here I rmb the entire film of BB2 made me cry cos Amara was going to be killed. I know for most of us Amara will live on. But the song just reminded me of the reasons that he didn't deserve this tragic end. The song pierced through my heart and brought tears almost immediately. Amara is hands down the best male lead character ever sketched. The swag, the slay, the glory! So many little nuances that shows his greatness. I wish someone tell D not to do a film in future that has him dying. Just couldn't bear the thought of him dying 😭 If that wasn't enough, Oka praanam started and I couldn't control I started crying out loudly. The impact it has on me is unexplainable. I'm going to replay the songs and tear up again. #myheartthrobAmarendra

Okay, couldn't get enough of Amarendra-Devasena. Seriously, they are couple goals.

Analysis of all Devasena-Amarendra moments Part 1:😳

1. First meeting: Where he is besotted with her, in equal parts for her beauty as well as her fierceness❤️. Mesmerizing. He is so caught up in her that he misses passing the weapon to Kattappa🤣 The way Kattappa asks Devasena for a job on his behalf and how he is forced to bow to her and conceal his identity. Her intelligence too - she fooled those bandits to think she was just a princess! When in fact, she had come there to attack them in the first place! 😆

I don't think she fully believed their story but she took them in still! Amarendra bowing in front of her.. first time he is bowing in front of some one, beside his mom & god! 😳

2. The tree trunk scene with Kumara Varma:

Even here his eyes were on her only. He was disconcerted by the fact that she thinks so lowly of him, that he doesn't have any skills/warrior-like qualities. So WHAM and he brings the sword down on the trunk and it splits open into two. He didn't care.. he loved being near her! He was willing to give up anything for that! Yeah, the moment of distraction -> WHAM! 😆 And she knew it was not Kumara Varma..

3. The hunting of the forest pigs:

Again Amara's eyes were fully on Devasena throughout the hunt- the way she held herself as she used her arrows to good effect and resolutely went about her task. And how he uses Kumara Varma and shoots arrows on his behalf...with one of them bypassing her arrow by a whisker. Showed you how in sync they were from the beginning. Oh yeah.. they were in sync alright! And this part of him, trying to compete with her - it was his way of getting her attention! He knew she wanted to master archery.. and here he was showing his skills and grabbing her attention to it!

Loved how Devasena said that she had gauged that he was acting...and then she slips and he catches her by the waist. Kattappa's reaction: She is hooked🤣 Indeed she was. But I really liked how nonchalant she was about it, she bravely held his hand out and said I know a warrior's hand, one that has battled with swords. The look of admiration he gives her at that instant is amazing. I feel she had the doubt all along.. she didn't buy their story! Was that an accident though? slip and fall? Why do I feel it was more of her way of trying to get him to reveal his identity? And that catch - there was a bit of a pressure applied by him and she felt it but she didn't show it like u said.. she focused on what she wanted to find out that instance -his real identity..

The scene with Kattappa where Amarendra tells him about how he wishes to stay by Devasena's side and win her love is also endearing...that he does not want to reveal himself because he wants to revel in her company. Yup.. just like the birds enjoying each other's company.. he wanted to enjoy her company!

4. The Muraidana Mukunda scene: (Tamil)

Deva sets him a test and makes him stand in front of the bull...but for Amarendra it is more important to stay by her side and pretend to be a dunce. So he withstood the attack and was injured badly...and then when the healer comes, and Kattappa forces him up he falls on Devasena❤️ She wanted to find out.. this is like another battle between the two.. romantic one! But by letting himself get hurt, he got her concern! She was totally concerned about him being in pain! And when Kattappa pushes him, she catches him without another thought! And smells his hair/brush her face on it! He totally sensed that too.. and hence the smile on his face! 😳

And then Kattappa plays Cupid and wants Devasena to sing a lullaby for Amarendra. And she cleverly sings Muraidana Mukunda and also says how sorry she is that she had him injured through the lyrics.❤️ I loved the entire song and how Amarendra immediately gauged that Devasena was singing for him, and his looks which suggested pure enchantment...and how Devasena had come to mean the world to him is evident. And how he slowly falls asleep on the tree and how Devasena looks at him as she offers prayers to the moon. BLISS. Yes, Amarendra knew it was for him.. and the way she apologized to him for causing him pain! 😳 It is one of the most beautiful songs ever! The way SSR & DOP showed Sweety & Darling! Darling looked like Lord Krishna!!! the way he lied on the tree branch, the expression on his face.. the cue was the same blue color as Lord Krishna too! And Anushka was just ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

Will post Part 2 and 3 tomorrow:)

Waiting for Part 2 & 3! 😃

Continuing my comment for Meenu's FF :

When Amarendra asked Avantika if she calls Mahendra as Shivu, he was kinda shocked.
And this reminded me that Amarendra's name in Kunthala was also Shivu in the movie! What a coincidence! 😉

Amarendra would always stand for the right, and I'm so glad he stood up for Devasena. Wrong is wrong, even if its coming from a family member... theres no compromising in that
I love the care he gives for his sis in law. He thinks about everyone! He is truely a King

And the mischievous and naughty Amarendra is too . I dont think cute is the word. And I dont think theres a word to describe/name it as well 😳

Bhalla might try as much he wants. Its not a crown that'll decide the King. Amarendra Baahubali is engraved in everyone's heart <3

Kanna nee thoongada.. Kanna nidurinchara.. Kanna soja zara...😳
Such a beautiful song to listen to ❤️. And such a beautiful visual to watch.. Anushka is a such a graceful woman to watch in that song😳.. Everything about her was perfect in the song sequence.. 🤗
And every word meant for him and she feeling bad for hurting him.. The reaction from Amarendra was wonderful to watch... They are never in the same screen but their love for each other beyond the physical proximity is wonderfully portrayed.. SSR's vision for this kinda of love display is awesome.. He sure must have lived every scene of the movie..

When I listened to this song in audio, something naughty and wonderful about this song was felt.. And the screenplay completely taken over.. Now I can't listen to the song without wanting to see the visuals.. 😉
