I was so young when I saw Aishwarya talking about donating her eyes for a cause and guess what I did...The moment I hit 18, the first thing I did was to donate my eyes...Also around the same time ,I have seen Leonardo talk about protecting environment and that was the first time someone drew my attention towards the cause...Since then I have been a more responsible consumer of the natural resources..

You want actors to be selfish and contained in their own boxes doing acting and earning money or you want them to use their clout in a positive manner and help the social causes?

"Positive" for me means doing charity quietly. You never see Sandra Bullock loudly taking a stand on everything, but when there is a crisis she quietly donates money from the red cross to ordinary people. There is a line between being vocal for something and doing nothing. But most celebs cross the line. And I don't like people who have not voted tell me to vote (like what happened in the US with MTV celeb Rock the vote).

As for Leo though he sermonizes about the environment look deep and see how much of a carbon footprint he leaves. When he takes a private plane, hires a yacht to take his model dujour girl friend of the day around creates more of a carbon footprint than you or me can ever leave. Al Gore is supposed to be this environment warrior but he lives a huge house that is a mansion that wastes energy while Bush who is not known for that built a relatively small energy efficient house designed for that. I can give you lots of examples. Celebs lecture, they rarely walk the walk and in most cases people mock them and it takes the focus away from the actual issue. Better they lead by example through actions. That will come out one way or the other.
