The door slammed open and Raj's glaring eyes met her tired ones. "Suno Rajveer...I'm too tired to keep fighting with you", Manu said. Rajveer stalked towards her and grabbed her arm. "You think I enjoy arguing with you? I'm just here to tell you to leave. You aren't needed or wanted here", he said. With that, he began to leave.

"Raj, saach mein...? Itna nafret karte hai tu mujhse? Mere hone ya na hone se tumje koi farak nehi padta?", Manu asked.

"That right, I hate you Manu Pawania. You were never my friend. All you did was lie to me", Raj replied. He turned to leave when he heard a loud thud. He turned to see Manu lying on the floor, her hair spread out like a halo around her paling face.

"Manu!", Raj yelled as he rushed over to her. His eyes gave her a quick once over and spotted her bloodied hands and stained blouse. Gently he lifted her up and into his arms. "Yeh ladki bhi na, apne ap ko kya samaj kar bete hai", he said. 

He placed her on the bed and grabbed the tissues along with her bandages. "Raj... throw the bandages out...koi dekhlega toh bohut garbard ho jayegi", Manu said. "Ha tum toh sirf bandage ka hi chinta karo. Doctor ko yeh dekhana toh jaroori nehi tha kyuki tum toh sab khud karleti ho", he replied while placing pressure on her wound. 

"What do you think Raj, if a doctor sees me...will they keep my secret? My best friend can't even look at me the same and refuses to even listen to me", Manu said with a weak smile. Raj glared at Manu and got up to leave. "Fine yaar...leave me. I can handle my secret alone. I don't know what I was expected from you", she said as she began to get up.

"Stop with your melodrama. I'm going to go look for bandages, I don't need you to keep bleeding or fainting with Mohini around.", Raj stated with a look of warning. He kept looking back at her to make sure she wouldn't try to get up. Raj didn't want her to know that she was affecting him. She didn't deserve his sympathy after lying to him for so long. He would never forgive her.

Raj came back to find Manu unconscious on the bed. "Manu, wake up...wake up...are yaar yeh ladki bhi na...Manu...". He lifted her choli up slightly and applied antiseptic onto her wound. "Raj tuh kya karai hai. Mein khud karsati hoon", Manu said as he finished cleaning her wound. He ignored her until he ripped open the bandage and saw her wince. He winced along with her. Seeing her so helpless made him feel useless. She would never trust him enough with her problems. 

"You enjoy making me angry don't you? Pushing my buttons...hurting yourself. Tumhe toh pata hain ke I hate seeing you hurt. You also like scaring me...popping up here and there with a new battle scar every time." Raj angrily said while applying more than the necessary amount of pressure. Manu laid still and didn't say a word as her eyes began to tear up. She wasn't crying because of the physical pain she was in...but from the pain of feeling so lost without Raj. She took his smiles and easy going nature for granted. This serious and angry side of him, made her feel like she lost him forever. 

"Manu...kya kuch zyada hi dard ho rai hain? Bas ar kuch muhje suna nehi. Tumko main abhi hospital lekar jaungi", Raj said while picking her up into his arms. "No Raj stop, I told you...no hospitals!", Manu gave a big shove as she tried to get down only to pull him down on the bed with her.

Raj fell on top on Manu but held himself up with his elbows to prevent himself from crushing her. She was delicate. Far more delicate than he had ever imagined her to be. "Raj...", Manu whispered. He leaned his head against hers "why can't I stay angry at you...you lied to me...didn't even try to trust me", he said. 

"Maybe because our friendship is too strong for misunderstandings to come in between us", she said as she basked in the warmth of his arms. "You call what we have friendship?", Raj said. Manu suddenly felt uncomfortable with their closeness and pushed him away. He helped her sit up on the bed. 

Manu's phone rang and she picked it up quickly, happy to be able to deter from the growing tension between her and Raj. "Sukhi-veerji kya hua?" 

"Manu, Bajwa ke log neche aya hain...lagta hain ke aj kuch garbad hoge. Tuhjko bularaihain". 

Manu tensely got up to go to the door. "Manu tu nehi jayege." Raj said sternly. "Raj muhje jana hoga, varna mere ghar ki izat nehi rahegi." 

"Agar tumko yeh log kuch kar deti hain! Tumko lagta hain ke tumko hello bolne aya hain? Tumse badla leni aya hain.", Raj was fuming now as he had an iron grip on her arm.

Raj and Manu glared at each other until he finally dropped her arm and stormed out. Manu weakly grabbed her pagdi and plopped it on her head. With one last glance at the mirror, she followed him. 

Raj was standing right in front of his father. He was stronger, taller, younger, and angrier than Manu had ever seen Harjeet look. "Harjeet Bajwa...I'm your youngest son Rajveer..the crippled one that you were so ashamed of. I hear that you are looking for your enemy. Manu is here, but Manu stands with your own Waaris. Here he stands in front of you, finally able and worthy. Now tell me why your wealth and land needs someone who you deemed so unworthy to even be called your son.", Raj said. 

"Raj...tu hain...tu mera beta hain. Tum kaisi es Manu ke saath mil kar apne baap ki izzat ke saath khel khela?" , Harjeet said as his eyes never ceased glaring at Manu. "Besides reminding me of all I have done to ruin your izzat, is there anything you want to say to me?", Raj asked.

"Come home, and take your rightful place as my waaris Raj", Harjeet said. "Ok", Raj said. Manu glanced up at Raj...was this the end of their friendship? "But I have a condition...before you agree listen to what I want", Raj stated firmly. 

He turned and stared at Manu while he readied to give his ultimatum. "I want to marry a Pawania and end this enmity forever. I want to end the stupidity that caused the death of your oldest son. The idiocy that led to my mom having to leave with me, from my very own home.", Raj said with his eyes locked with Manu's.

"Raj kya tum pagal hogaya? Ek Pawania se shaadi karege?", his father said. "Not just any Pawania...Preet Pawania...", Raj replied.
