Is Mr Khurrana even Ahaana's husband?

So why then was he not involved in the surrogacy? Being the father, he didnt even meet Naina or pick her as their surrogate.. He wasn't there for the procedure either or anything. And in the new segments where they showed Ahaana's funeral, he wasnt present.

So are we to assume they've changed Vineet's character? Im confused.
