The scale of a war movie requires a lot of money...Then even with money its requires a brilliant director..Most Indian directors even the expert ones fails to create the scale ---> Anurag K, Vishal B (from bloody hell song it looks max above average)..The one who can are invested into different genre. Aushotosh Gowarikar failed recently..SLB handles only dramatics which is not needed for a realistic war movie..Ketan Mehta created the set up but failed in story telling..Rest are just not interested !!!
Also what will be the story? Indian as a race doesn't have any larger scale war story to tell except the war with Pakistan..The Bangladesh freedom fighting war with Indira Gandhi backdrop is one excellent story to tell but the Punjabi dominated industry is not interested to show East Indian struggles be it partition, riot or this one..

P:S I would love to see Puru and Alexander war someday by an Indian director

But I think Indo-Pak or Sino-Indian war movie is not a good choice of film to make...

Rather, we could make so many endless number of movies on various topics like partition, how India coordinated and helped Bangladesh during it's independence, India-Lanka problems, ..on so many anti-terror operations - against Naxals, secessionists in NE and so on.

But these movies should project facts in balanced way, not in a way that will let any party involved in the story glorified or shamed, even when in reality they may be glorified or shamed.

It's not easy to make such movies... without making it a typical bollywood movie, but hope they start making more such movies. Kinda off-topic but speaking of movies projecting reality of our past the way it was, the only movies in the recent past that come to my mind are Madras Cafe, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi(somewhat - the way past was depicted was good - did justice IMO)

There's so many themes/stories for movies to make, more so in our country that has so many stories to tell owing to the diversity and our beautiful history.

Hollywood have made millions movies from a single world war
Sure we could find many stories

For example
Battle of sargrahi

I think we're a relatively young country that was born in an era characterised by the UN and a 'peace is best for business' ideology.

How is The Ghazi Attack's trailer?

War film ke liye war bhi hona chahiye na. Does Baahubali count? 😆

Thats because WW is the most significant war fought and impacted almost everyone in some way or the other...So many lives, soo many perspective from different countries - thats why it doesn't get repetitive.. honestly dont like the way Indo-Pak wars are shown in movies..One or two movies stood out. After that its the same old thing

Battle of sargrahi is being made right?
